Rap-Up TV: Dawn Richard Flies Solo at L.A. Show“You have officially popped my cherry on my first show,” announced Dawn Richard during her intimate concert with Mateo at The Roxy in West Hollywood on Thursday (Oct. 20). The New Orleans native soared as she commanded the stage solo without her Dirty Money or Danity Kane groupmates by her side. She treated the packed house to covers of Kanye West’s “Runaway,” Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat,” and Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody,” and performed material off her mixtape A Tell Tale Heart including the piercing “Bulletproof.” She smoothed it out with her remix of Frank Ocean’s “Novacane” and played familiar songs from her past including Danity Kane’s “Sucka for Love” and Dirty Money’s “Ass on the Floor.” Dawn also gave fans a taste of her upcoming conceptual debut GoldenHeart, due next year. The album is the first in a trilogy, which includes BlackHeart and RedemptionHeart.

Sucka 4 Love should have been Dawn song from the very beginning and overall it was a very good performance for her first solo performance.

She has potential to be successful in the industry. This is her 1st show solo, and she did a good job. She’s going to get even better, just saying. Watch out!

Her stage presence is absolutely ridiculous. I can’t wait for some more ballads and choreo for her uptempto tracks. Dawn is about to breakout for real.

I love Dawn. I really think 2012 could be her year. She has learnt alot about herself and what type of artist she wants to be over the last 2 years. I really want her to work with Chris Brown and Kanye. That would be some HOTT features. Dawn saved Breezy’s remix of ‘Marvins room’.
I really want some Killer dance moves from her too.

It’s just a matter of time that she will get better..because she did a damn good job being that it was her 1st time performing live solo.
