Monica stirs up powerful emotions with the storyline-driven video for “Until It’s Gone,” the lead single from her upcoming album New Life, now due December 13. Malinda Williams (“Soul Food”) confronts her man, played by Brian White (“The Shield”), about his cheating as they drive in the car. But an accident puts it all in perspective for him, while he sits in the hospital with their family waiting to learn her fate. Monica plays the wise best friend of Williams, who reminds him of what he is losing. Grab the Kleenex ’cause this one’s a tearjerker.
yassssssssssssssssssssss, Mo, this live will slay me. Monica videos are always top notch. Always have a storyline. I will be gettin that album Mo #Newlife Nov. 29th.
its refreshing to not see some1 not all madeup and modelesque and overtly sexy ala’ beyonce, and just showing simple acting chops, like monica did, and yes, she is still relevant, the long hair looks good on hair, i think her redbone looks get overlooked b/cuz of the short hair.
Another hit for the greatest singer in my time, Monica killed it as usual. I hate that she is so under rated, when she is one of the few that actually still SINGS! #NEWLIFE LETGO!
Great video!!! I really really really hope the video helps push the song a bit more. As much as I hate to say it, I predict that her album could get pushed back into 2012 because it could be hard for her to compete with all the other major fourth quarter releases. I think that’s what helped “Still Standing” when it was released at the end of March 2010, because not many other artists were making moves at that time so it gave her a chance to really push her project and not get lost in the shuffle.
grrrrr monica stop pushing the album back ahhhhhhhh!!!!! Hopefully this song can explode on urban radio and maybe crossover to rythmic stations and promotes the hell out of this album. I still think this album will push 200K-220K if promoted right.
Malinda @malinsworld = wife. Monica = her sister. Brian White @actorbrianwhite Jarret Janako @JarretJanako = their brother. Little boy is our son (Malinda & I). Directed/Written by Diane Martell.TWITTERS
I agree with Mike, Monica singing to the husband was confusing. I love the song, as always Mo knocked it out of the box. Great song would have had Mo narrating the video but definitely not singing to him because she was singing as if she was the wife not sister/friend.

Yass Mo! This was so emotional and heart felt. Way to enhance a song with substance. Beautifully done, can’t wait for New Life!

DECEMBER 13?!
RCA Records doesn’t care about R&B…Mo needs to find her release and find a label that WON’T push her back eleventy gazillion times.
