My favorite song from Jay and Mr.West on watch the throne album is “niggas in Paris”. Why i choose this incredible song is the beat amazing and the rhythm just hard head banging sound gets you ready for anything. The song complements their freestyle by bouncing off creative fun playful ideas during the song to give it a different sound you have never heard. Kanye adds humor into the song when he says “Bougie girl, grab her hand F**k ol girl she don’t wanna dance
Excuse my French but I’m in France (I’m just sayin)
Prince William’s ain’t do it right if you ask me
Cause if I was him I would have married Kate and Ashley”. That one of my favorite quote in the song. I would be grateful to witness G.O.O.D music front of my big bright brown eyes to have the experience of watching them live in a huge crowd full of screaming fans hearing my song “niggas in Paris” would be awesome!:D Throw your dimaond in the air!Peace xo

“Otis” by far. The song works well for today’s ADD music market- a lead single under 3 minutes with the 2 biggest hip-hop stars on earth. It’s catchy without a chorus, a genius sample moment c/o Kanye’s amazing ear for finding an old song that can still sound hot today. A lot of the songs on this buckled under the weight of the production, but this track really gets it right. Best track from both of these guys in a while. The line about “other other benz” is everything.

When I first heard this song, I was blown away. That Nina Simone sample filtered through auto-tune gave me chills. I had no idea what the song was going to be about, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was cool to hear Jay-Z and Kanye talking about their future children and a welcome change of pace in the album. NYC! “Otis” provides a look into Jay and Kanye’s musical heritage and pays homage to one of the greatest singers of all time. Its rhythmic cadences perfectly blend hip-hop with classic soul to show what this genre is all about: mixing the old and the new.

Murder to Excellence
Murder to Excellence is often overlooked, but in my opinion it is the best song on the album. Amazing beat, amazing lyrics, and the rappers stay on topic. This song is probably most relevant to what is going on in today’s society. Kanye and Jay-Z accomplished what they were setting out to do with it.

“No Church in the Wild”
This song is a true master piece to me, a perfect openning that paints the picture of Jay and Kanye’s world: the wild. The manner in which The Throne exposes religion to its listeners is eye-opening because both Kanye and Jay’s life experiences, although different, have led them to understand the concept of religion in a very unique way. Kanye’s church is his relationship with women, and Jay’s difficult past has forced him to see the lie-filled, ugly side of religion.
The beat is extremely cold which contrasts beautifully with Frank’s voice as his chorus asks an ironic yet genuis question “…will he make it out alive?” Of course not, everyone dies.
I could write an essay on this song, which is why it’s my favorite one from this classic album.
