New Music: Justin Bieber & Mariah Carey – ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You (Remix)’
Justin Bieber duets with Christmas queen Mariah Carey on a “SuperFestive” version of her classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which was released when Justin was less than a year old. The remake, featured on his holiday album Under the Mistletoe, stays true to the original, with Mariah opening the song and the teen idol coming in on the second verse.
The pop diva suggested that they do a duet after Justin approached her with a separate Christmas collaboration. “I was very honored,” he told “Access Hollywood.” I really wanted to do the song and I couldn’t do it better than her. To have her on the song with me, it gives me the stamp.”

Mariah kind of sold out here. I love her added vocals, if you listen carefully, she’s even added some since the version from last year. Justin doesn’t really add anything though.
But this is just an attempt to gain some of Bieber’s millions of followers and introduce them to Mariah’s back catalogue.

Wow. That was horrendous.
This is the version that was on Mariah’s Merry Christmas II You CD. Basically they chopped her second verse out and put Justin in and had him ad-lib a little bit, but whoever mixed it did a horrible job. It sounds very cut and paste, not to mention that his vocals are louder than hers so their voices never quite mesh. Not that they would anyways. I didn’t think he could sing that well before, and puberty has definitely done him no favors.
