@Winston Churchill, Nino, The Finger, and Anton Krasinski, Eminem is the greatest mainstream platinum selling rapper of all time, and one of the top ten greatest rappers ever, but Kanye West and Jay-Z have put out far better music than Eminem over this past decade, and both Kanye West and Jay-Z sit on the throne right now. Eminem made one classic album in The Marshall Mathers LP and that was it. Eminem’s Slim Shady LP, Eminem Show, Encore, Relaspse, and Recovery had classic hip hop songs, but none of those albums are considered to be timeless hip hop masterpieces, outside Eminem’s fanbase. Kanye West made two classic hip hop albums in College Dropout, and MBDTF which both got great critical reviews from unbiased professional music critics left and right. Jay-Z has four classic albums in Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album, and the underrated American Gangster which got better reviews than most of Eminem’s albums. Eminem is a better rapper than Kanye West, but Kanye West is the better producer, and better music artist. Eminem is a better rapper than Jay-Z, but Jay-Z is the better music artist. Kanye West won 14 Grammy Awards, and probably will win a lot more in the future. Jay-Z won 13 Grammy Awards, and could win a lot more in the future. Jay-Z makes more money than all the rappers right now. Jay-Z is a part owner of a basketball team, and his wife makes more money than most rappers. I could care less if Jay-Z is too old, or if Kanye West is an asshole, both Kanye West and Jay-Z are ahead of the rap field when comes to putting out good music. Watch The Throne was one of the best hip hop albums of the year. Eminem owned 2010, but Kanye West, and Jay-Z owns 2011 right now. Eminem is very popular with mainstream media, and Eminem is a great rapper, but Eminem is not the only good rapper out there. Right now, Kanye West and Jay-Z have 2011 on lockdown, whether you like it, or not.

@bigboy23, If 2Pac, and B.I.G. were still alive, they would be at the top of the hip hop game, there is no question about that, but for you to say Jay-Z wouldn’t be shit if they were alive is plain stupid. There is enough room in hip hop for every great rapper to shine. Before 2Pac, and B.I.G. were famous, hip hop had LL Cool J, Rakim, N.W.A., Run DMC, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and plenty of other great rappers, so your statment is so not true. Jay-Z could had still been an elite rapper, he just wouldn’t be more popular than 2Pac, and B.I.G., that’s all. Nas is a great rapper who had the greatest hip hop album in Illmatic, but Nas was not as popular as 2Pac, and B.I.G. were on the mainstream level, still I believe 2Pac, and B.I.G. were great rappers. Before B.I.G. died, he was doing classic songs with Jay-Z on both Reasonable Doubt, and Life After Death. That proves hip hop is bigger than just one great rapper.
