Dawn Richard delivers a treat for her fans on Halloween with “SMFU (Save Me From U),” a stirring mid-tempo ballad written and produced by up-and-coming producer Druski. The Dirty Money diva bares her heart while singing about a man who is a hero in the eyes of others, but to his lover (Dawn) is a villain. The acoustic number is set to appear on Dawn’s solo debut GoldenHeart, the first in a trilogy of albums.

Yes, Dawn and Brandy have similar sounds but they’re still unique in their own way. Every artists sounds like someone whether that’s their influence, model, or just trying to get their sound heard. Dawn is the next Dawn not Brandy Norwood. Both are amazing singers & people. So if you like this, say that and stop hating…The end =)

Dawn sounds beautiful!! As a fan of Dawn AND a huge fan of Brandy, I think there need to be no haterade in here. All great artists (and Dawn is in that category) uses influences from other great artists to create their own style. Michael Jackson was influenced by many of the greats throughout history. Yet there is only one MJ. Dawn might be influenced by Brandy, but there is only one Dawn. Please people – enough with the catty comments! Sheesh! I’m a B-rocka fan for life (I can’t wait for Brandy’s new album) AND a Golden Heart. There’s enough love to go around for the both of them. Let’s love one another and stop the hate. Hate is so passe. You reap what you sow my friends. 2012 is the year of the Lovers (in my book at least…)
