« Mariah Carey Remixes ‘Christmas’ with John LegendMary J. Blige Shares Laughs with ‘Chatty Man’ [Video] »New Music: Drake f/ Rihanna – ‘Take Care’![]() Drake rekindles the flame with Rihanna on the title track from his sophomore album Take Care, due November 15. The repeat collaborators tell a familiar tale of love lost over the piano and drum-patterned beat, which samples Jamie xx’s remix of Gil Scott-Heron’s “I’ll Take Care of U” and Lesley Gore’s “It’s My Party.” RiRi reaches out a hand to a vulnerable Drake. “If you let me, here’s what I’ll do/ I’ll take care of you,” she sings on the tender hook, while Drizzy says he’ll be waiting for her “when all the baggage just ain’t as heavy and the party’s over.” The Canadian rapper took to Twitter to address the album’s premature leak. “I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore,” tweeted Drake. “Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time.”

@W, I was surprised at how popish it sounds. It’s alright, not what I’d expected from a Rihanna assisted track. Generally she makes a track standout (i.e. Run This Town, Love The Way You Lie, All of The Lights, Live Your Life, etc.). Definitely not an instant smash hit but could go on to do well if there’s a powerful video shot for it.

That is what making is what making music is all about. Mixing many different sounds, beats, melodies and lyrics to make things happen to a song and add the music video to help make it come to life is the enjoyments of music + your make it happen attitude.

Best Drake track ever. It sounds fresh and not like all of the other cookie-cutter R&B/Hip-Hop tracks out there these days. Most of these tracks lack inspiration and stick with the same sluggish beat formula that hurt the genre as evidenced on the Hot 100 chart. Seven years ago, a lot of R&B/Hip-hop tracks peaked much higher on the Hot 100 than they have been lately. I think the lack of variety in sound and the refusal of the audience to accept uptempo record by ignorantly dismissing them as “too Pop” is to blame. Remember when House music started out? It was all the rage on Urban radio. Now days, you don’t hear a single track over 120 BPM in regular rotation except on a fluke.

The subtlety and the layers of this song will lend to its long shelf life and its bigger potential. Even if it’s not a huge What’s My Name type of monster-hit, it will have a huge fan following and become a classic favorite in his discography.
Think about all the songs that are beloved out of Jay-Z and Kanye’s catalogs that were never chart smashes, but loved by millions. I rest my case.

Rihanna sounds really good on this. Glad to see her using her lower register and using it so well too. Hopefully she can keep getting better live too. Can’t wait to see them perform this and for the video.

Most people do not realize that when people do not buy music he will not create as much new music, and will not have a good of producers working on his songs! This album debuts on the 15th of November and I hope all of you still go out and buy the album! “Take Care”

@Songstress, he won the award because of popularity…awards don’t mean talent anymore and drake is NOT a lyricist by any means seriously he has simple lyrics I thought everyone knew that by now…LMFAO Drake creative???? call lupe, cudi, j.cole creative they are real lyricist drake’s voice got really annoying after a year to me.

Not impressed by this track and much less by most of the tracks of the album. I guess it may just have to grow on me. He’s definitely tryin’ to sound fresh but despite his efforts the album still lacks some freshness and falls flat in the end. I also don’t get the whole talk about his lyrics. I don’t really understand the background of most songs and others never really excite me. The guy should start expanding his lyricist view if he is to gain the respect of many like me.
