Rap-Up.com || New Music: Brandy – ‘Silent Night’

No, this is not a Christmas cover. But Brandy gives us a reason to celebrate with her newly leaked record “Silent Night.” The 32-year-old chanteuse pours her heart out on the edgy R&B ballad about love lost. “It was a silent night, another lonely night/ I can’t believe you left me,” sings an emotional Brandy on the Kadis & Sean-produced cut.

Brandy, whose new album is due out next year on RCA/Chameleon Records, was so pleased with her latest work that she gave herself props. “Now y’all know I don’t toot my own horn, but a b*tch SLAYED ‘silent night’ #cockymoment !! Lol,” she tweeted.

This is very different for her in some ways! It has almost an industrial edge to it.. can’t define it as a genre, but it’s much grittier than what she’s used us to, even vocally..I can dig it!..

Yessir that is the brandy i grew up with. She just needed to go back to the core of who she is as a singer and look at the results. Wonderful i think its great that she is going hard for her career being the artist she truly is. This is just a starter but i know as a true brandy fan the best is yet to come. I am really glad to see R&B music making a come back. No disrespect to those who have experimented with the euro pop thing kudos to you guys for stepping outside the box. But if ain’t broke to try to fix it…..#team brandy get it girl

This is a great track and of course, Brandy vocally delivers effortlessly. The lyrics are beautiful and so is the production. I’m just ready for her to release that long-awaited album of hers. It feels like it’s been centuries since she last released her 2008 LP, ‘Human’. I’m sure I speak for the masses when I say, roll on 2012!

Of course I am leaving a response.. I respect the hustle Brandy has been on… I can tell the hunger is back. When the CD drops.. Im buying three of them No lie..
