Rap-Up.com || New Music: Rihanna f/ Jay-Z

The Roc is in the building. Jay-Z and Rihanna combine forces once again on the title track from RiRi’s sixth album Talk That Talk, produced by Stargate and written by Ester Dean. Mr. Carter does it way big on his intro verse (“I’m flying out to Pisa just to get some pizza”), while RiRi adds a feminine touch to the aggressive beat.

“‘Talk That Talk’ is a mid-tempo banger with hard drums, dirty synths, and Rihanna and Jay at their best,” said Stargate’s Tor Erik Hermansen. “We are very happy with the song and Jay’s verse is crazy—same with Rihanna’s part.”

i’m sorry this song sounds like a weak, recycled, typical boring song, and jay-z is washed up and overrated now. this beat is just so basic and tired i’m sorry. and the actual song is actually kind of annoying and repetitive. it’s pop trash. and this is the name of the album? i guess this album is just to make money off songs that got cut from the loud album b/c this does not sound like new, fresh material with any effort behind it. adding jay-z doesn’t change that.

@mamario, I hear you.. I’ve loved everything rihanna’s come out with since 05′.. but judging from the snippets, “You Da One” & this, her new stuff doesn’t stand up to her other stuff. It’s like they tried to re-do “Rude Boy” in several different songs and put them all on one album.
You can really hear that a lot of these songs are left-overs from Loud. They’re very “Raining Men”/”What’s My Name” like.. But who expected much growth in such a short period of time anyway?
“We Found Love” showed promise to a new sound for Rihanna, but I think it’s going to be the only stand-out track off TTT

I love Rihanna and I probably know the words to all the songs on her album after the GGGB era, but this is really stale. Safe music, No matter all the number ones she has, she’s still one single away from falling off. She hasn’t solidified herself as an artist, and is as replaceable as Ke$ha, I hope the rest of TTT is better and more stand-out, but this mediocrity is killing me. WRTW?

I get the feeling that Rihstans just can’t be honest with themselves, this song is so basic just like the rest of material from Talk That Talk. If this had been released by any other artist, like Keri Hilson, people would be clowning it. Even Jay’s verse is weak. The lyrics are basic, her vocals are weak. They all sound like a bunch of left over tracks from LOUD. No growth at all. She is better than this! SMH.

I don’t think this is gonna be a good era for her. She should have just taken a break and took time to come up with some better material. She was just going for a bunch of weak catchy hits with this album. I’m really dissapointed.
