Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are getting high for the holidays. The weed-loving duo will release the soundtrack to their upcoming film, Mac and Devin Go to High School, and hit the road for a brief tour next month.
The collaborative album, which features the Bruno Mars-assisted single, “Young, Wild & Free,” will arrive on December 13. The Smeezingtons production is the first offering from the companion soundtrack to the “buddy film.” The video for “Young, Wild & Free” was shot in Los Angeles and helmed by the film’s director, Dylan Brown.
Hip-hop’s Cheech and Chong will also team up for a joint “High School Tour,” performing cuts off the soundtrack at intimate venus across the country. The 6-date trek kicks off December 5 at New York’s Terminal 5 and wraps a week later in Los Angeles.
The movie, due early next year, sees valedictorian hopeful Devin Overstreet (Wiz Khalifa) struggling to write his graduation speech when it becomes clear that all his academic overachievements have left him with little to no real-life experiences. He finds inspiration in slacker Mac Johnson (Snoop Dogg). Mac, a 15-year senior and ladies man, is taken by the school’s new substitute chemistry teacher. He realizes that the only way he’ll have a chance with her is if he finally graduates high school. In three weeks, Mac must cram four years of high school academics, while Devin learns to expand his social circle.
