Rap-Up.com || Ciara Crafts a ‘Hit’ with Hit-Boy

Ciara has quietly returned to the studio to work on her next album. Producer of the moment Hit-Boy spilled details on a track he made for the R&B siren.

The 24-year-old hitmaker behind Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Ni**as in Paris” cut an uptempo record with Soundz called “Hit Boy” for CiCi’s Epic Records debut.

“I did a record for Ciara. It’s called ‘Hit Boy,’ written by this producer/writer Soundz. He’s amazing, so be on the lookout for that,” Hit-Boy told MTV News, describing the sound as “energetic, for the club, for the radio.”

In addition to Ciara, the in-demand producer has been working on music for Brandy, the G.O.O.D. Music compilation, and Kendrick Lamar. “The record that we did work on is very energetic,” he said of his collaboration with the Compton MC. “It’s almost the same type of energy as a ‘Ni**as in Paris,’ so I’m super excited for people to hear that. That’s like one of my best beats that I’ve done in a while.”

His work can also be heard on Rihanna’s new album Talk That Talk (“Watch n’ Learn”) and Monica’s 2012 release New Life, for which he and Ester Dean contributed a slow ballad.

I’ll always root for Ciara! I’ve been a fan since day one and have enjoyed all her albums so there is no reason why her next one won’t be good. I don’t even care how she does commercially anymore though because “Fantasy Ride” and “Basic Instinct” were duds but still had great material.

Point is, Ciara DOES make good music. I don’t know how many times older crowds or people who don’t care for her has liked or loved her records, whether the records were recent or old, sold and performed well or didn’t. Ciara’s issue has never been music, it was always about poor marketing strategies, poor promo, and backing support from her label and team. Ciara has the full package to be a WW Superstar and people know this. The music industry, fans, stans, haters, and outsiders all know this.

I’m very excited to see what’s in store for Ciara’s future. Being recently signed to Epic Records and being under L.A. Reid’s wing was just the tip of the Iceberg. I know Epic and LA Reid has a lot in store for the rebuild of Ciara’s career. She’s coming for blood and success, I feel it.

Ciara does great music in my opinion. The sound she went for on Basic Instinct sounds fresh to this day, a well-received R&B record – and it’s a shame how it sold so poorly.

She is talented, and I don’t get it why people don’t want to see her succeed, especially her own community. She has a good christian soul.
