Peace, love, and soul ruled at the 2011 Soul Train Awards. Keri Hilson took a break from recording her third album to attend the 40th anniversary taping at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on Thursday (Nov. 17).

Doug E. Fresh, Naughty by Nature, and Goodie Mob participated in a tribute to the late Heavy D. R&B crooners Joe, Eric Benét, and Robin Thicke paid homage to Legend Award recipient Earth, Wind & Fire.

Lloyd catered to the grown and sexy with “Dedication to My Ex (Miss That),” while Mindless Behavior thrilled their young fans with “Girls Talkin’ Bout.”

Common, Cee Lo Green, Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Musiq Soulchild, and Anthony Hamilton also performed at the soulful celebration.

Keri tries too hard to be on Beyonce and Rihanna’s level! I liked her from the ‘In A Perfect World’ era but now she’s just trying too hard! I mean with the new look, music, dancing (which she’s terrible at), and music videos! Its no wonder ‘No Boys Allowed’ flopped!

The artists that get honored in the soul train awards have talent and integrity, Keri may have strayed abit but she is right up there when it comes to talent. These are people who will still have careers long after their looks have faded. You call them has beens I call them the (elite) real talent of America. These people are the ones that lift your countries flag but you would rather glorify people that represent everything that is wrong about America.

I like Keri’s outfit. She looks good for this event. That last outfit she had on in NY was horrorible. I’m a fan, but that dress was ugly. Only true fans will be bold enough to say that about someone they like.
