« T.I. Talks ‘Trouble Man’ and ‘Booty Tag’ on ‘Late Night’ [Video]Miguel ‘Pissed’ Over Grammy Nominations Snub »Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Usher, & Lupe Fiasco Salute Grammy Nominees![]() Grammy season got underway with a star-studded concert held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (Nov. 30). During the one-hour special, “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night,” Lady Gaga performed twice—once by herself and a second time with country duo Sugarland. LL Cool J hosted, Nicki Minaj presented the Record of the Year nominees, Ludacris teamed up with Jason Aldean for a country-meets-rap collabo, and Usher joined Valerie Simpson and Mike Stoller in a moving tribute to songwriters Nick Ashford and Jerry Leiber. Lupe Fiasco, Common, and LL Cool J paid homage to the hip-hop classic “The Message” by linking with Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel. Backstage, a surprised Melanie Fiona gushed over her two nominations with Cee Lo Green for “Fool for You” and Bruno Mars celebrated with his production partners Phil Smeezington and Ari Levine. “It means that we’re kinda the coolest kids on the block this year,” said Bruno of his six nods. “We worked extremely hard on ['Grenade'] and I can speak for all of us when I say we’re most proud of that song.” Kanye West leads the nominations for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, airing February 12. @Redchainsaw, what r u talking about? Nicki is 28 but who cares. How is this outfit immature i didn’t know a cocktail dress was immature. Plus Nicki likes color there’s nothing wrong with that. Nicki has her own style and don’t be mad because she’s not dressing the way you want her to dress.

Nicki, its time to take the ass down. Her next album-actual sophomore album- needs to come with an overall. Ms Colorful Bubbly only lasts so long

Winning a grammy is great I’m sure, but the voting for who wins has been suspicious for years. Take nothing away from the nominees. You only get selected by when your song was released anyway.

I LOVE MELANIE FIONA. Seriously she is the most humble artist EVER and I am so glad that the “Fool For You” remix kicked off the way it did for her and Cee-Lo. It’s still climbing the charts and those 2 sound really good together. I love Beyonce and her “Single Ladies” song, but I still say Melanie should’ve won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “It Kills Me” over Beyonce in 2009. “It Kills Me” was the textbook definition of a monster R&B performance.

@Lea, Like WHO?
I swear, people love to talk about false, fake shit. Nicki Minaj is STILL hot and everywhere. Her SEVENTH single just hit the Top 20 on the Hot 100 and she just got THREE GRAMMY nominations. You might be tired of her, but the rest of the world sure aint.

Usher did great on those songs. Love him doing R&B instead of pop. Best performance i’ve seen him do since MJ funeral. But those nominations this year are ridiculous. Bey should of had way more nominations, Ye should have got a nomination for Album of The Year and many other artists should have got noms too. I’m really disappointed and I hope they reassess and change them, but they probably won’t cause then people will get disappointed that their fave no longer has a nomination.
