Rap-Up.com || New Music Premiere: Teairra Mari

After releasing several mixtapes and viral videos, Teairra Mari makes her official return with “U Did Dat,” the lead single from her as-yet-untitled sophomore album. The R&B siren exited Warner Bros. Records earlier this year and signed to Rico Love’s Division1 label.

“Ever since I went there with you/ Never been so turned out and turned on/ I’m so glad he’s gone ’cause you’re the one I want,” a smitten Teairra coos over the seductive midtempo, written and produced by Rico and D-Town.

“I believe in her. She’s a superstar,” Rico told Rap-Up.com. “If somebody is a star and they have that ‘it’ thing that cannot be taught, all you have to do is put a record with it. I believe that she’s gonna have a successful career. I believe that she has that potential.”

@MeloRockstarr, This track is HOT! I can soooo hear this on the radios. She needs to release this soon and not let it die over like the other songs. N the video better be professional looking–pull out the stops… Rico Love hooked this up! I think he’s a great mentor for her because she’s becoming more of a sultry singer n less of a “boom Im sexy in your face” kind of singer like she’s been for awhile now. Good stuff!

U mad eat a scooby snack bitches hahahaha anyways let’s talk about this new Teairra Mari record … the lyrics are cute but the chorus don’t do a damn thing for me the keep repeating u did that get’s a little boring after a while . Sounds like a leftover song Monica would do though. Teairra can sing her ass off don’t get me wrong I just feel like she needs to find herself or at least find her genre she’s all over the place with her sound. I feel that she needs a catchy song something radio friendly something that will draw peoples attention like sponsor did. this will be forgotten about tomaroe c’mon Teatea im rooting for you put Not in love on the album I like that song way better than this.

This songs not bad. I think with the right video this song could do really well on R&B/Hiphop billboard charts. possibly top 10. It definately needs a rapper though. I can hear either j.cole, Fabolous or Tyga on this track.

Um…not bad. Definitely not first single worthy though; especially figuring this is her first offering on Rico Love’s new label. Her vocals sound great on it though!! I will always support Ms. Mari. I bought her debut album when she was signed to Roc-A-Fella and I loved it and I have liked everything she has put out since. She has never given up and keeps pushing ahead. Gotta love her.
