Common keeps the dream alive on “The Believer,” another No I.D.-produced cut off his ninth album The Dreamer/The Believer (Dec. 20). The Chicago MC spits words of wisdom, while John Legend takes ‘em to church on the soulful number. “Even through the unseen, I know that God watch us/ From one King’s dream, he was able to Barack us,” raps Common. Rise up.

Great song…
BUT I was really looking forward to this sounding the way it did when he performed it in Hawaii about a year ago. I think it had a Lonnie Liston Smith sample and it gave me chills.
Oh well.

Common is so raw and real. Every time he spits, it’s like I should be taking notes w/ a pen and pad like i’m in a classroom.
