Rap-Up.com || New Music: Anthony Hamilton f/ Keri Hilson

Anthony Hamilton makes sweet music with Keri Hilson on “Never Let Go,” track #6 off his fourth studio album Back to Love, due December 13. The soul crooner explains how the “Pretty Girl Rock” singer ended up on the Jerry Wonda-produced duet.

“[Songwriter Cri$tyle] took the chorus and made it not just an amazing melody, but she took it and made it a his and hers,” says Hamilton. “Her voice reminds me of either Kelly Rowland or Keri Hilson. It just so happened Keri heard the song—I think it was a set up all along—she said she liked it a lot and she would love to do it.”

Keri, who was in South Africa at the time, came back and recorded her vocals in time to make the album. “It’s one of my favorites actually,” he reveals.

I’ve done alot, and everything I’ve done I haven’t flopped at it! I may not be a celeb but thats not my goal in life, but you better believe that whatever my goal is in live I won’t be a basic person giving basic effort and then when I get “one” hit my head won’t get big over it.

@realest, im not a “fan” of keri.. im also not a hater/beyonce stan.. but if keri was “basic” she wouldnt be a highly successful song writer with a record deal and a lucrative career and highly respected by her peers. And if you consider that a “flop” then by your own standards you may as well off yourself. Cause if you were so successful you wouldnt be on the internet judging people illogically as if you know them personally. You have never done anything worth noting and you probably wont ever amount to anything. That’s why you’re on the internet trying to convince yourself that keri hilson “basic”.Enjoy your internet your lackluster life and resenting people who clearly have accomplished more than you.

Well, I could be wrong but she’s co-wrote:
Mary J. Blidges “Take me as I am.”
Ciara’s “Like a Boy,”
Omarion’s “Ice Box,”
…and I think she’s written material for Britney, Nas, and Britney Spears.

You might not think she’s something worth respecting, but these artist trusted her enough to have something to do with their career. Yo boy Anthony respected her enough to do work with her, so that kind of cancels out your point of “respect.”

And even with a Luke Warm career, she’s still standing and trying to make something of herself…at least she’s just not settling for a luke warm career. She’s working with “respected” artists like Anthony Hamilton.

I don’t think the problem is her luke warm career. It appears that the problem really lies within yourself. If she’s such a flop, why are you so concerned?

I can see why this sound like “Promise…” wasn’t Keri apart of The Clutch? I thought that group helped with writing some of Ciara’s song.

I know Ciara mentions the name in “Like a Boy.”

The basics of this song sounds like “Promise,” but it’s respectfully different.

And as far as copyrights go, if Keri was apart of the Clutch, and they did write “Promise,” then she’s got the pull to do it…otherwise, she gon have to pay the piper.
