New Music: Lupe Fiasco – ‘American Terrorist III’

Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco stirs up more controversy on the politically-charged “American Terrorist III,” a new track released via Twitter. The rebellious rapper tells the story of a soldier who wages an insurrection and is now clearing his conscience. “Funny ’cause he really hated war, but why we went to war is what he really hated more,” rhymes Lupe over the haunting robotic hook.

I appreciate this cat. The fact that he raps about REAL things that are occurring daily. Ppposed to the majority of knuckle-head rappers that follow record execs and spew out feeble-minded lyrics that does not go for progressive or thought provoking lyrics, thats LAME. I say keep going Lupe!

@Done,as opposed to saying that lasers his last album went straight to No.1? Bitch shut the fuck up and get your facts straight! What would you rather listen to YMCMB who only rap about getting pussy and money? While Mr.Fiasco here actually gives a damn and a half about this world of ours. This song is for the socially and politically conscious people not ignorant wasters like you…smh.

He’s never been the best, highly overrated. He acts like he knows a lot about politics, but the last time he was on Bill O’reilly he made a fool out of himself.

    [Reply]

    Drew Reply:

@Ice, Wrong… its call editing. It was O’reilly’s show so he edited the who thing to make Lupe look how he wanted. Don’t be a fool

I LOVE HIM! HE MAY NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT POLITICS BUT HE RAPS ABOUT WHAT HE SEES AND FEELS, & I LOVE HIM FOR KEEPIN IT REAL!

    [Reply]

@MmmHmm, and thats whats important. no matter if hes smart or right. he says whats on his mind in a free country instead of just trying to make some stupid mainstream songs with david guetta…

To compare lupe to Tupac, perhaps the greatest rapper of all-time is a complete joke. Tupac wanted to make changes with the corruption in our society. Lupe is making false claims about corruption that does not exist. People need to stop agreeing with everything Lupe Fiasco says just because he can rap. If you have a great flow it does not mean you are always right. He is filling todays youth’s heads with complete nonsense and it is truly a tragedy everybody believes every word that comes out of this man’s mouth

@el bashir, Lets start with the obvious.. all our presidents are terrorists…?

    [Reply]

    T.Idaking Reply:

@el bashir, well for starters all of the past U.S presidents are terrorists

    [Reply]

    kingkoopa Reply:

@T.Idaking, he did not say all US presidents are terrorists so lets get that straight. second ask yourself why america went to war in the first place? if you think it is because of what happened in 2001, you should lock urself in a box and throw away the keys. what do you call someone who comes to your country and kills and terrorize the people? terrorist or US troops? it gets confusing sometimes…..

    T.Idaking Reply:

@kingkoopa, thanks bud good to know our troops who fight for our country are terrorists

Maaaannn….I used to bump Lupe way bak when it wasnt cool, FoodNLiqour, and The Cool, but this is getting on my nerves, seeing everybody jumping on his tip acting like he is hip hops saviour now. Lupe lost his mind man, he needs to stop doin this ‘ef the goverment’ over techno beats crap and just go back to rapping straight bars. Listen to songs like “put you on game” and “daydreamin” and you’ll know what I mean.

    [Reply]

    Sam from FL Reply:

@ThatRealISH, He’s gaining a new audience and dropping his old one. More $$$. Selling out at its finest.

    [Reply]

    Yeah.Okay Reply:

@Sam from FL, Naah man, he isn’t selling out. First of all, if you think he did LASERS to gain a bigger audience and get people’s money, then get it straight. LASERS, fore the biggest part, was done by AR.
And if you think the mixtape is way to poppy and sh*t, then try making one like EOTS with current beats, you won’t succeed. It isn’t Lupe, it’s the music industry thats F-up.

    [Reply]

    ThatRealISH Reply:

@Sam from FL, idk about selling out but u r are rite,he is definitely loosing his old fans. And as n old fan Im just getting sick of it, no one said he still couldn’t spit but just go back to the stuff that made u gr8 Lupe

After reading all these comments, I realize how ignorant I am about Lupe.

I’ve only heard a few songs from him, but if he’s really talkin’ about something, I’m def willing to listen.

I’m not expecting (political) perfection, but if he’s trying, he’s doin’ a lot more than other rappers…which we can all see –Money, cars, clothes, sex…” Blah. So much more to life…but some of ya’ll don’t wanna hear that so I won’t go there…now.

Good lookin’ on the enlightenment. I hope you find enlightenment today as well.

I honestly think hes great rapper because hes trying to spread the word and get his thoughts heard. He doesn’t rap about money, drugs, sex, clothes etc. He raps about everything that matters. Much respect for him. And hey …
