Rap-Up.com || Rihanna’s ‘LOUD’ Tour Grosses $90 Million

Rihanna is closing out the year with some extra zeroes in her bank account. The pop superstar’s “LOUD” tour was among the top 10 tours of the year, grossing a whopping $90 million.

The international trek, which wrapped before Christmas, lands at No. 7 on Pollstar’s Top 25 Worldwide Tours of 2011. The “We Found Love” singer played 99 shows in 78 cities and averaged $75 per ticket during the six-month-long jaunt, which hit North America, South America, and Europe.

RiRi tops fellow pop acts including Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry. Other artists making the list include Usher, whose “OMG” tour raked in $59.1 million. Meanwhile, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne outing grossed $48.3 million with only 35 shows.

@Thats real, obviously they’re not on the list they didn’t do near as many shows. The people on this list have toured most of the year. Lil Wayne toured for like 2 months, and every show was sold out, so what’s your point. Check the Forbes list before you try to comment on peoples money again. (You’ll find him at the top.)

According to MTV and Billboard, the U.S. leg of Lil Wayne’s “I am Music Tour,” which kicked off March 18 in Buffalo, New York and hit over 60 cities before winding down September 11 in The Woodlands, Texas grossed close to $47 million dollars (Approximately $46,300,000).

Lil Wayne did 69 shows… and of those 69, HE ONLY SOLD OUT 17… Number Don’t Lie right???? Thats 2x the amount of shows Jay-Z/Kanye West did with 30+ more feature artist to carry the tour…. and still grossed less!

What she has done in only 6 years is not comparable to what Bey or another other artist took a decade to do. BTW, Bey had extensive help from her father & mother, countless DC members, and Jay-Z for her longevity – while Rihanna has been grinding solo from the start with little help. She didn’t have all the support Bey did, went through a public scandal, and still came out on top. To me, that means a hell of alot more than what Beyonce has done.

Beyoncé had: at leats 2-3 number one hits on every album, including DC3, but not “4″, cause it was the purpose. She was pregnant and could not promote or go on a tour. But still, all of her solo album were nr. 1, also in the US.
Check the internet, she had several high fashion ad campaigns but stopped most of them after her marriage.
She had 2 international tours wich were almost 100% sold out, everywhere, and just to mention two af her records, she won the billboard millenium award wich only MJ won before and won 6 grammys on one night!
I am not hating on Rihanna but before writing, get your facts right!

I personally believe Rihanna is one of the worst performers and I think it’s sad that so many people pay to see her live and leave probably thinking, “wow, that was amazing!.” Every tour video I see of her she is just walking around on stage, shaking her ass and tits, and *painfully* attempts to sing. Her voice does not translate well on stage and it goes to show that producers tweak around her voice in the studio. This just goes to show what type of society we live in and how people who lack in talent can be successful and warp the younger gengeration who give into it. It’s scary to think that her tickets averaged at $75. I probably wouldn’t go if it were free, and if I did I would have to be pretty intoxicated.

Dont get why people compares Beyonce and Rihanna. Both are talented, but they are totally different! Beyonce is older, had more experience and now has a fulfilled family life, but Rihanna is only 23 years old! She has allot to do to get to that stage where she will never be forgotten. I am not saying that the music Beyonce made is legendary and neither Rihanna. Both have a long carrier, and in the future, so dont compare them cause they come from totally different places. Beyonce did not have that much success when she was 23, cause she didnt have any famous people as her mentor, but Rihanna had many, and that also includes Jay-z and Beyonce! I am impressed that Rihanna has came so long in just six years and I really hope that it continues in the future, where their fans doesn’t fight about who is the best. If we look away from the gossip, they are good friends so why should their fans fight about these silly things?
Beyoncé is GOOD and Rihanna is GOOD, thats it!!! They are different so DONT compare them!!
