Singing karaoke is daunting enough. But imagine when the artist whose song you’re performing is sitting right in front of you. That’s what happened to one lucky fan named Dee when Drake joined her to duet on his hit with Rihanna, “What’s My Name?” Dee held down RiRi’s parts before introducing the Young Money superstar at the Saddle Ranch Chop House in Los Angeles. Drizzy rapped his verse before giving her the stage.
“I was like, ‘Oh my god, Drake!’” an excited Dee told E! News. “I just got lost in the moment and thought, ‘Whatever happens, I don’t care.’ It was a total Hollywood moment.”
Thanks to an iPhone and YouTube, the duet has gone viral, making Dee an overnight sensation. Watch the OMG moment below.
This was clearly staged. This chick was too comfortable up there with him for it to be by chance. Drake needed some good press after all the heat he was catching for threatening a random tattoo artist and for that weird tatt he got of Aaliyah.
@Watever, there are plenty of women who don’t get starstruck when they’re around a celebrity. It depends on the kind of person you are. Judging from this video, the girl looks like an outgoing, daring person. If he needed something to clear his name, he could’ve done something for charity or visit sick children in the hospital. But karaoke with a random fan? A little far-fetched, if you ask me. Not saying that this can’t be staged, but I highly doubt it.
Drake is a unique guy. Sometimes he completely throws me off, when he mentions how much he loves Rihanna and Nicki Minaj in every interview for example. But things like this make me like the dude! He isn’t acting as if he’s better than the girl he’s singing with, because he’s known around the globe. I like that. You can brag about your money all you want, as long as you stay grounded. Then I consider you good person in my book.
@Lisa, How is what he talks about in interviews his fault? If he takes about them too much it’s only because the interviewers keep asking him about it.
@So Odd,
1) I’m not hating. I’m just stating the obvious.
2) Anyone who’s been to a karaoke bar knows they are small venues. There’s no way Drake was hiding in some VIP and was able to jump up stage just in time to rap his verse without ANYONE seeing him. There’s no way that was a “surprise”.
3) Setting up a situation to get media attention isn’t cool, it’s manipulative & phony.

I doubt it was staged. Just because she doesn’t sound like a goat in labor (like Rihanna normally does), doesnt mean it was staged.

@Watever, You are hating. You are one of those ignorant fools who think everything an artist do is staged for publicity. LOL like Drake needs it..
