Rap-Up.com || Brandy Performs ‘His Eye Is on the Sparrow’ at Sing-a-Rama II [Video]

Brandy took ‘em to church with a cover of “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.” The R&B songstress performed the gospel hymn last week during Sing-a-Rama II, an annual gospel gathering spearheaded by her father Willie Norwood. She received a warm reception from the crowd who clung to every word. In a few weeks, Brandy and Monica will release “It All Belongs to Me,” the highly-anticipated sequel to their duet.

Yall, i really wanted something positive to say, but all I can think of is how Lauryn Hill’s version from Sister Act 2 is 10x better and way more soulful. Sorry Bran, but I did not catch the spirit nor did I believe your conviction, especially on the I’m so happy and I’m so free parts.

@ashgino, There’s your problem right there. You expected Brandy to sing this like Lauryn Hill and that’s unfair. Why do you all do this? Constantly putting singers against each other? Brandy has her own sound and she effectively used it to make this song her own. You shouldn’t expect her to sing or sound like anyone else but BRANDY. But too bad you couldn’t appreciate this.

GIRL SET DOWN: hunny take notes from Luaren Hill, Carina Passion & GOD knows KEKE WYATT on this song.. Brandy has never done it for me..all that strain in her face. and she yet dont deliver….aND ON this new duet with her and MONICA. I hope since she praising Mo’s vocals again.
