Maino caters to the ladies with his grown and sexy single “That Could Be Us” featuring newcomer Robbie Nova. The Brooklyn rapper imagines him and his girl living in happiness like famous couples including Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, and Barack and Michelle Obama.

He explained what inspired the song during his appearance on “106 & Park.” “Everybody know I make street music, I make records coming from the hood, but I was going out on tour and I was seeing a lot of females and they was like, ‘Maino, when you gon’ give us a female record that we could be proud about?’” he said. “And it challenged me to go out and make a record dedicated to females.”

Maino will release his sophomore album The Day After Tomorrow on February 28, but before that, he will drop his Green Lantern and DJ Infamous-hosted mixtape I Am Who I Am on January 26.
