Report: Diddy to Launch Music-Themed Cable Network

Diddy

Can’t stop, won’t stop. Sean “Diddy” Combs is expanding his entertainment empire. The Bad Boy mogul is planning to launch a music-themed cable network at the end of the year, according to several sources.

Broadcasting & Cable reports that Diddy’s new channel will be called Revolt and is aiming to go live on 12/12/12.

Former MTV programming chief Andy Schuon is reportedly involved with the well-funded venture. He previously headed a music channel called International Music Feed (IMF).

Diddy has been in talks with Comcast and Time Warner Cable to distribute Revolt, which is being described as a music and music news channel with an urban skew. One source likened it to the old days of MTV, but catered to an African-American audience.

Diddy’s Bad Boy office did not confirm reports, but a Time Warner Cable spokesperson said they have had “some discussions” regarding the network.

Honestly this is what we NEED! This could be big and could give artist another venue to promote their work. If Diddy is smart – he would develop a top 10 music video show sorta like TRL.

I mean Im EXCITED! Say what you want, but he makes good TV. Making the (His) Band 1-4! He may destroy careers but this is a good chance for him to redeem himself.

Yeah this will be big Diddy always makes for good tv and views not only will he be making more money but give artists the opportunity to have worldwide success. I think this year compared to every other year will be huge for Bad Boy artists like Machine Gun Kelly and Cassie. Especially MGK hes the next big thing he will dominate 2012 mark my words.

I hope he follows thew with this venture. The music industry is hurting from not having a proper music channel. Music video sales record even with the internet artist need a outlet to promote there music. Diddy should take what was classic from MTV, BET, VH1 & mix it together. He made the most apperances on TRL so he should revive that show. Play music videos, show live concerts, have reality shows only related to music. THIS CAN BE HUGE IF IT PLAN WELL!

Congrats to Diddy. A music channel like the one described would be amazing…just what the music industry needs, especially for hip hop and r&b.
