J. Cole will be looking his best when he heads to the Grammys next weekend. The Roc Nation rapper, who will compete for Best New Artist against Nicki Minaj, The Band Perry, Bon Iver, and Skrillex, spoke to USA Today about his nomination for his debut Cole World: The Sideline Story, and where he was when he first received the good news.
“I’m very happy just to be nominated. If I don’t win, it’s OK,” said a humble Cole. “Now don’t get me wrong, I would love to win.”
He already has his outfit picked out. “I’m going to be looking very nice in a good suit,” he said. “I’m going to bring my family and friends and celebrate. I don’t know how likely it is that I’ll win, but I’ve learned that anything is possible.”
I respected that interview sooo much. From him talking about his connection with his personal songs down to performing for tons of crowds that weren’t his, I know that’s not easy nor comforting. Been a fan of Cole since 09 and he’s done a lot of work that wasn’t played in the forefront. This nomination alone is a BIG WIN. Happy for u homie!
I went to his concert in Amsterdam the day he heard he was nominated and it was straight fire! His energy and the crowd’s enthusiasm was insane. I know I definitely wouldn’t be mad if he brought home that Grammy.
for real every thing is possible brother, and we know but i want to let you know just for the fact that you are visible dat will make it posssible cole,we are with you May God bless us all.

J. Cole went GOLD with barely no promotion. He’s obviously the true winner, regardless of what goes down.

I really hope he wins the award. He deserves the success, and he’s been waiting a long time for this type of success.

Didn’t hear much of his stuff but I liked his verse on Dj Drama’s Undercover and he seems real humble. That’s real important. Wish him all best.

J. Cole has a loser’s personality. He probably was a loser his whole life. he’s just super dry, and doesnt have the charisma to win a grammy.
