Chris Brown Set to Return to the Grammys

Chris Brown

Three years ago on the eve of the Grammys, Chris Brown’s career nearly ended after his infamous fight with Rihanna. But this Sunday, the singer will make a triumphant return to the stage.

Brown has been officially announced as a performer at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, where he is nominated in three categories including Best R&B Album for F.A.M.E.

The night before the Grammys in 2009, the R&B star and his then-girlfriend got into an altercation while leaving Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party. They both pulled out of their appearances at the show the next day.

Brown experienced a fallout from the incident, but has managed to bounce back with hit singles and albums. This will mark his first time on the Grammy stage since 2008 and the first time the former couple has attended the same awards show since that fateful night.

Rihanna is also set to hit the stage on music’s biggest night. The pop star, who is nominated for four awards including Album of the Year for Loud, will join Coldplay on their collaboration “Princess of China.”

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on February 12. Other performers include Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Adele, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and more.

CB will have the best performance of the night. He is all around talent, SINGER,SONGWRITER,DANCER, ACTOR AND ARTIST. He is very humble and appreciative of his second chance. He has worked so hard for this. I am praying that he wins at least one grammy. He is young and deserve the right to learn from his mistake and grow as a man.He is going to make some mistakes, because he is still learning and maturing. He is only 22 years old and I know guys who are older than him in their late 20′s and still hasn’t matured. I wish nothing but the best for someone is trying to make their life better. God is a forgiving God, and only God that CB has to answer to and the person he hurt.

To the Haters like “cierra” “iv” and “are you kidding me?”, Everyone is human and everyone mess’s up. FACT! To sit their BEHIND your laptops and pass judgement like your God doesnt make you better than him. Unfortunately, we as HUMANS have to make mistakes to learn and growth. Making mistakes allows us to have empathy towards others. It Makes us realise that your not higher up than the person sitting next to you.How would you like it if you were defined by your mistakes every single day?!
We should be praising how much he has grown in the last 3 years not putting him down.

This is a time for celebration so the next time you are soo quick to put someone down, think about what mistakes you have done too.

    [Reply]

    YuPP Reply:

@wonderLand19, AMEN!!!!!!!!!!! No one should EVER judge that man for what happened cuz they never truly know what he went thru until they are in that situation. Men arent perfect. We has human beings forget that. People truly can learn from a mistake…esecially something as big as this one. Chris’ public humility and push from the top was enough punishment. He doesnt need people acing “holier than thou” passing judgement and holding this grudge that is so unnecessary!

Reading some of these comments, it make me wonder how “forgiveness” is distrubuted among those who may be close to them who have possibly done the same thing as this “stranger” or even worse than him. I don’t condone what was done but I do know everyone deserves forgivesness just as we’ve all been forgiven for our transgressions. — Hope he wins!!!

Grammy is the most important thing in the music industry right here. We slayed VMA,AMA and BET.And this time we’ll slay the Grammys.Keep on hating haters. While you’re hating here Chris is working for his performance.Hahahahhahah

Im so proud of Chris for over coming obstacles and LEARNING from such am incident at such a young age. The fact that people still hold onto that ONE night is absurd. People dont want believe in change and forgiveness and its so sad. They just want to see people fail. 10 years from now people will still be upset with Chris for that one time while he AND Rihanna have both moved on. Chris took responsibility for what happened and has been moving forward ever since. Hes not a man to give up. He was born to do this. A REAL man admits his mistakes and Chris never made an excuse for what happened and sure as hell never put the blame on anyone but himself. Hes learned from it and thats what really matters. So for all of you calling him a “woman beater” get your facts straight!!!!!! He made a mistake one time and you can bet it wont happen again. LET THE MAN LIVE AND BE GREAT!!!!!!!

Infamous fight?? Really?? He smashed her face in and left her on a side walk at night. He is so very lucky and undeserving to still have his career. But he is able to due to delusional/pathetic/naive mainly black young women who refused and still refuse to hold him to account. Also, the Neanderthal mentality of young men today does not help in allowing the average young woman to process that what HE did was wrong. Society as a whole has a lot to answer for if Chris Brown is an example of the industry’s finest.

    [Reply]

    zania Reply:

@Nations sweetheart, You say only black women support CB, he has a whole lot of other races that support him. How about the victim Rihanna, she stated that she support him. So what is your problem if Rihanna has moved on and talking to him as friends.

Heartbreaking seeing some of these comments. The severity of what he did has always been glossed over by his die hard fan base. Here’s hoping when you are all ready to have children that none of your daughters end up with someone like CB.

His talent does not negate his violent behaviour. The fact he is a ‘great’ dancer and is photogenic does not cancel out what he did to his ex girlfriend. That is all.

    [Reply]

    @HER_AGAIN, and so what???

    [Reply]

    chianne Reply:

@HER_AGAIN, What he did has not been glossed over, its been sensationalized. Everyone saying he ‘beat her to a pulp’ – ?- the TMZ picture that everyone has etched in their brain is grossly distorted -there is another picture that shows the injuries were much more mild. He did not beat her to a pulp. And listen to her 20/20 interview – she says she never came close to be being unconsious. I’m not trying to defend these actions but i don’t like character assasination based on a distortion of the truth
