50 Cent Gives Back in Africa

50 Cent

50 Cent is a man of his word. The hip-hop mogul traveled to Africa with ABC News reporter Dan Harris this week as part of his Street King initiative to provide a million meals to impoverished nations.

He visited a refugee camp in Somalia, where he served food to the children, and journeyed to Kenya, dancing with his young fans. “At times today, this [very] confident rapper was left speechless,” tweeted Harris.

The philanthropic rapper posted photos of himself on Facebook with a message. “I’m in Somalia this week to show the world the devastation that is taking place,” he wrote. “Children going hungry everyday, even dying everyday from hunger. I am going to keep sending thru images from out here. I need you to take these photos and re-post to your friends. The world needs to see what is going on.”

@AustynKing, That “don’t comment on the dust in another’s eye when there’s a log in your own” view, eh?

I see where you’re coming from with helping those around you before you help those afar but at least 50 is doing something. There are millionaires who do nothing at all.

I didn’t like the character before, now this changes my mind a little. Although I do think most ‘celebs’ (hate that word, can’t think of another one) give to charities, I like the fact that he actually went there and did it. Especially Somalia, it’s real dangerous out there. Respect.

/ Surprisingly! It is like you understand my mind! You seem to know so much about this, just like you wrote the book in it or sonmthieg. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the content home a bit, but other than that, this is informative blog post. A good read. I’ll definitely revisit again.
