Rap-Up.com || Dawn Richard Preps EP for March, Previews New Song

Dawn Richard’s solo material is coming sooner than you think. The Dirty Money diva is gearing up for the March release of her EP Armor On, the prelude to her full-length debut GoldenHeart. She also previewed an uptempo, Valentine’s Day-inspired interlude called “Change,” which will be released on February 13.

“We wanted to write something that [had] double meanings about relationships, but also a play on words so that it would be inspiring to people if they want to talk about God or their relationship,” she explained of the Druski production. “It’s kinda like I know I haven’t treated you the way I should have, but it doesn’t mean you don’t love them. It just means you’re still trying to figure out your situation and how to be a better person to that person.”

Prior to the album’s release, Dawn will unveil more music and surprises for her Hearts.

@me, I was saying the same thing, up until recently,but she sounds like the OLD Brandy. Brandy’s voice has changed, once again…what a beast. I will say that how Whitney is Brandy and Monica’s musical “mother”, Brandy is Dawn’s. hmph

I love Dawn and I am hyping her project, BUT I just hope it gets the right set up. With this being her first solo release, her and the label should make sure everything is in order before they drop this album. And if she is going to release it in March, she better get moving because that’s NEXT MONTH!

Between her and Shanell’s I can’t get hype about their projects. Their too hit and miss for me. When they make good songs they make good songs but they make so many middle of the road to just plain wack songs. Fingers crossed tho.

Umm… okay. I love Dawn and I’m gonna support REGARDLESS. But March is a little ambitious isn’t it? AND STOP SAYING IT SOUNDS LIKE BRANDY!!! They put harmonies together in a VERY similar manner, but their tones are totally different. I love them both, just stop comparing.

It sucks that’s she’s not signed to a major because she’s very talented and I love her approach musically but she should’ve found a way to combine her sound/style to what current kinda like Last Train to Paris and threw in a bit of Danity Kane style and wreaked havoc.

This new stuff, while creative is very boring and it won’t be commercially successful.

Dawn is SUPER talented. She puts out good music, music I like. I would love to see her on a label who respects her as an artist, and her music. This girl is a rising star. People better take notice! However, I can’t wait for her album to drop, because I know it’s FIRE!

The thing is tho Dawn is not worried about album sales its not about that she a artist and true artist could care less. there are plenty of people out here with great sales and yet there music is TRASH! she is putting her creativity and individuality FIRST and for that i repsect this woman she keeps her fans updated and always gives us what we want on the regular. this video she posted was her just giving us a lil preview of what she is doing. when have your faves done it without 236236234623 numbers of people with them?
