Rap-Up.com || Madonna Slams M.I.A. for Super Bowl Stunt, M.I.A. Apologizes

M.I.A. caused an uproar with her controversial finger-flipping moment during Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime show. But not only did she offend some viewers, she also angered the pop queen.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, an unhappy Madonna addressed the headline-making incident, which occurred while they were performing her new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’.”

“I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity, it seemed negative,” she said. “It’s such a teenager, kind of irrelevant thing to do. But on the other hand, there was such a feeling of love and unity there, what was the point? It was just out of place.”

M.I.A., who also appears on “B-day Song” off Madge’s upcoming album MDNA, has apologized to the Material Girl. “She has. I know she feels bad,” she told Carson Daly. “I accept her apology, but you know, I think she still has her head in the sand right now.”

Madonna had nicer things to say about her other onstage collaborators. “I wanted to choose fun people. Nicki and M.I.A. are cool because they have youthful energy and I think they’re badasses in their own right. And LMFAO, to me they’re just pure joy and they crack me up,” she told Seacrest. “I love Cee Lo. I’ve always loved his voice. I feel like he’s somebody really up-and-coming. It was like a dream come true for me. I got to work with a lot of people that I wanted to work with.”

People can strip and shake all types of body parts on TV, but yet people wanna flip when M.I.A. gives the finger?? When it comes to the legalities of the matter, okay then I understand why the certain people in position of power (TV networks) are mad, but to say she’s done this “horrible thing” is BS. Kids see and do far worse in school, even in elementary school, they also hear and see they’re parents do worse, so in MY opinion its no big deal. Also considering Madonna’s past she really should have nothing to say, I just think she’s trying to be politically correct by saying what the networks wanna hear …also if the people listen to M.I.A.’s verse her verse has attitude in it and her lyrics actually inspire a “badass” attitude, hence she got caught up with the energy etc and just gave the finger. America cries over the most trivial matters, its a whole lot worse going on.

@OldSchool, and speaking of disrespect. the main reason the younger generation doesn’t see anything wrong with it is because compared to what we see everyday on television or in our households, this is like watching a disney cartoon. most of what young people do, we get it from home first from watching and listening to parents or what our parents let us have. but then, when we start doing the same things, everyone wants to easily blame Lil’ Wayne, M.I.A., Jay-Z, or other popular performers and actors without realizing the role that they play in it or realizing it and blaming other people as a way to absolve themselves of any real responsibility. quite frankly, parents need to regulate what they do in front of kids and what they let they’re kids listen to or watch, and explain what’s okay, what’s disrespectful. then kids and young adults won’t do it all the time like it was nothing. and to be quite honest about the whole situation, when i saw it for the first time i didn’t even notice it. and why everyone is jumping on Madonna here, is because we know her music whether we’ve listened to it or not, we know. so it was really hypocritical

Madonna caused another controversial moment when she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguleria at MTV Music Awards years ago; so Madonna is a two face hypocrite. Madonna just mad because M.I.A. got more attention with her middle finger than the new garbage music Madonna has just released. For Madonna to say Cee Lo is an up and coming artist comes to show you that some pop artists including Madonna don’t know shit about real hip hop music. Before Cee-Lo became famous with biased mainstream music fans, biased mainstream pop fans, and biased mainstream hip hop fans, Cee-Lo was part of the Dungeon family in the 90s when real underground hip hop was at its best. Even though Cee-Lo is doing great by himself and with Gnarls Barkley, hip hop fans always remember Cee-Lo from the Dungeon family era. Madonna needs to shut the fuck up because she has been known to do controversial things through her career. Young people wouldn’t even care about Madonna’s new music, if M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj wasn’t on her new song at all, and that’s the unbiased truth.
