Rap-Up.com || Ameriie Explains ‘Bixie’ Haircut

Ameriie debuted a striking new look over Grammy weekend. The “1 Thing” singer traded her long locks for a “bixie” haircut while attending Drake’s Grammy after-party with her sister Angela at Greystone Manor Supperclub in West Hollywood. She explained her new ‘do, styled by Addie Markowitz.

“I just wanted to go short and my personality loves extremes, so I went uber short,” she told Rap-Up.com. “I call it a ‘bixie’ because it’s a cross between a bowl cut and a pixie cut.”

I usually don’t like singers who have REALLY pretty long hair and then decide to go short, but it actually really suits Ameriie. I can’t wait for her new album! It’s coming out this year right?

I love the drastic new look! She can also style it any way she feels fit! And its very refreshing when all other girls going blonde or what have u. Now its time for new music please! Hopefully first of March, if not then I don’t care about waiting! I’m patience as they come for my fav Ameriie!

Singers grow and the consistent ones like Ameriie won’t stay in the same lane for long! I love that about her. She’s too creative to be closed in R&B box. I’m glad she’s exploring Electronic Dance Music because that music is way more exciting. R&B all sounds the same now and ppl just releasing same song w/ different beat/concept! Ameriie grows with each project so if u like the samey type artist go support your Rihanna, etc!

I could’ve said better myself! Ameriie is a universally talented artist! She could go in any direction with her sound and still deliever a cohesive project! So excited for Cymatika and all the other projects she has in store for us! I respect artists like Ameriie because she isn’t here for making songs just to have a hit. She writes, producers, & mixes her music that she personally can relate too. That’s the artist I idolize and praise! No matter how u think oh she’s using a gimmick. Please art is up for interpretation and she’s definitely will get the haters talking with this album! I will always support her in any endeavors that she goes in!

@craig, are u serious?? U say Ameriie grows with each project and that she’s creative/changing styles, but that Rihanna uses the same style/has no growth?? Where have u been? Rihanna is the one who has changed with every single project, musically and stylistically. In fact, lots of these artists are following her lane, including Ameriie. Rihanna is a trend setter! Although switching from R&B to Dance music has been done before, Rihanna is the one who really made a mark and once she started making countless hits with dance tracks, everyone else followed and started making dance music. And how can u say R&B sounds the same?? That’s what the industry needs right now, good R&B…it’s this electronic dance music that sounds the same!!There’s no creativity/talent anymore…all this dance music is repetative, same beats, no depth, no effort, it’s being overly-saturated. Lots of these artists use this style of music as a crutch b/c u don’t have to sing well or have much talent to make a hit. The only good thing is that it’s good party music/for the clubs. I really don’t like the route that music is going right now..that’s why people don’t sell well anymore, people aren’t gonna spend money to listen to the same dance tracks over n over when they can simply hear it on the radio, in the club, or download!

well thats not it. Her manager is extremely lazy and people don’t wanna work with him. Therefore harming Ameriie’s chances at success. But I think she’s content with his decisions. He’s one of the laziest managers out there though imo. Because it keeps her name out there on blogs some way. She usually doesn’t have this minimial buzz for her last 3 albums. This isn’t a bad move but not keeping fans up to date on what’s going on with new album is. Like she’s independent but doesn’t Ustream, tweet on project, etc. Its always a find through the grapevine type thing. I just want the album I don’t care about promo, etc. As long as I get music and I don’t worry about quality cause she’s a talent artist with niche of building tracks true to her sound! Now Lenny Nicholson her manager is just another rant. He’s a failure in my eyes, he basically destroyed Nas’ career and now doing the same with his wife! I hear his attitude is horrible too. Figures
