Rap-Up.com || Brandy and Monica Perform ‘It All Belongs to Me’ on ‘Leno’

What a week it has been for Brandy and Monica. After pulling out of their performance at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party following Whitney Houston’s death, the R&B singers teamed up to perform their new collaboration “It All Belongs to Me” for the first time on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Dressed in all black, they put their powerful pipes on display, and Monica paid tribute to Whitney with her shirt.

The dueting divas embraced at the end, continuing the love on Twitter. “@MonicaBrown you did greAt tonight Miss Thang! So proud to stand next to you:) love you!!!!” tweeted Brandy, to which Monica replied, “I LOVE u More.”

They shot a video for the Rico Love-produced song earlier this week with director Chris Robinson, and the single is now available on iTunes.

Both ladies did a lovely job. I was afraid that Monica would try and overpower Brandy, but she kept it together and both ladies won in the end. They looked lovely as well, especially Brandy.

Brandy simply killed her range, her pitch, her tone, her runs , and her presence were as close to perfect as it gets… She has certainly matured so much as a vocalist and how effortless she makes it looks is unbelievable.

Brandy started a lil off… But saved her verse with that run… She warmed up really well & saved it. Monica did the same thing.. Started off slow, not really there vocally, but finished well… From mo I was missing that attitude behind the lyrics… She was keeping it a lil too safe! But that ending was great!! No one, and I do mean NO ONE sounded better than the other!! As, this performance was not great, nor the best for either of them! I’m gonna need the ‘stanning’ for your fav to put the other artist down’ sh!t to stop coz I swear to our vocal God ‘Whitney’ y’all sound stupid as hell! Both artist love an respect each other and the fans need to stop putting them against each other! They got together to show y’all it’s nothing but love between them! & together they can do damage! So let’s stop the bs ppl! Both of them are great in their own right!

They both did an amazing job. They was singing for dear life. Brandy took it to church with those runs and Monica looked like she wanted to cry after that performance. You can tell she’s still mourning the lost of her idol and mentor.

Let me first start off by saying this “BRANDY” you are back….THANK GOD!!! I loved it!!!! This performance was geared towards the crowd they were singing to hint (The Jay Leno show). It had to be sexy and mature. They both did an EXCELLENT job!!!! P.S Whitney was smiling down on them as you can tell both of them are mourning her death.

Oh man they killed it!!! I was watching last night. They both sounded amazing!! They gave me goosebumps. I love how they both kinda changed it up a bit. Great job to both the ladies! Brandy is soooo BEASTLY! That tone, vibrato, and vocal versatility is unmatched. And the runs..smh!! And those low notes…wow! Bran is so skillful AND she looked AMAZING from head to toe..literally!! Monica did great, too! Did’t really feel that long sheer tail on the back of that shirt tho. But, that’s besides the point..lol! Monica def has a performance swag and soulful quality that I’ve always loved.
