Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon has resigned from his day-to-day position as co-host of his New York radio show “Rollin’ with Nick Cannon.” The showbiz mogul signed off live on air today.

Over the holiday vacation, the 31-year-old entertainer was rushed to the hospital due to “mild kidney failure.” He made a recovery, but continues to experience health issues.

Earlier this week, he announced that he was hospitalized over the weekend for two blood clots found in his lungs. Health concerns have prompted the father of two’s decision to relinquish his daily hosting duties.

He made the announcement via the 92.3 NOW website. “Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule,” he stated.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support. I will continue to host my syndicated ‘Cannon’s Countdown’ weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.”

In addition to his weekend radio show, Cannon will continue to host NBC’s talent competition “America’s Got Talent.”
