Sean “Diddy” Combs stopped by the “Today” show on Friday to promote the Oscar-winning documentary Undefeated and his new music network Revolt.
The music mogul cleared up the confusion over his Oscar win, confirming that he did not receive the award for Best Documentary Feature, which only goes to the film’s directors and producers. Diddy is an executive producer (“I’m like the Martin Scorsese, Jr.”).
He shared how his grandmother motivated him to pursue his dreams, just like the coach in Undefeated, which opens in major cities across the U.S. today.
And he didn’t leave before plugging his new network Revolt, set to launch in 2013. “It will be the #1 name in music,” proclaimed Diddy. “We will play what the others are afraid to play. We’re bringing the soul back to music.”
If he put money into the movie, and was the Exec Producer, how is he taking credit for something he didn’t do? A movie HE exec produced won an Oscar and he’s happy about it.

He did what Tyler Perry did for “Precious”. He put out money for advertising and marketing, and then tried to take credit for something he didn’t do.
