Usher controls his own destiny in the intense video for “Climax,” the first single off his upcoming album, due later this spring. Shot in his hometown of Atlanta, R&B’s leading man is faced with a life-altering decision as he sits in his car outside his ex-girlfriend’s home with gun loaded. Will he confront the new man in her life or take off? Find out his fate.
@asdf, eres said nothing about sex, he just thinks there was no ‘climax’ in the video, and I agree. There definitely were parts that looked like it would build into something big (the cars driving towards each other, usher going into the house with the gun) but they were cut short.
The concept of the song is that it’s the climax of a relationship. Once you’ve hit the pinnacle there is nowhere else you can go but to leave. The video is stating that once your out and the love is gone you shouldn’t go back because every outcome is gonna be disastrous no matter what.
wow ! people i feel like our soul/rnb ish is comin back enough with all that dance music!
Very good step of usher to go in that direction! thank you lord!
wow, I was waitin for this? damn I had a awesome abstract way of looking at this vid, but its the modern world and I shouldn’t of had my expectations so high ,but anyway still love this song its on itunes go cop!!!
The point of the video is that no matter what he does everything will end the same. When usher goes inside the house they get caught so its obvious their relationship will be over. He takes a gun and kill the girls husband won’t help out their relationship either. If they escape together it will end in both being killed in an accident. That is why he decides to just leave because “They have reached their CLIMAX”
ok i understand the video is supposed to be deep and have a meaning…but i thought it was boring and didn’t do the song justice at all! i’m a big Usher fan and have high expectations when it comes to his videos…but Usher was lacking in his performance…it was awkward to watch this…there was no “climax”, it was just a repeat of clips played over n over again…
what would’ve been nice is if he did his usual dance sequence or some type of creative choreography that fits the music, some great visuals and theatrical shots, and a better flow of pace….everything seemed so rushed and thrown together, and most of the video was just usher sitting in the car making weird faces…i’m not impressed
OAN, as a fan, of course i’ll cop the album…his music never disappoints!!
This is not a repeat of clips… OMG people. Please pay attention to the video before making inaccurate statements. There are different scenarios being played out in the video. No matter what choice he makes the best choice is the hardest choice – walking away. This is also stated within the lyrics of the song.
