New Music Premiere: Ameriie – ‘Every Time’

The Prelude

Just when you weren’t expecting it, Ameriie returns with a brand new song off her upcoming mini-LP The Prelude. The sexy chanteuse takes it back to familiar territory on the first offering “Every Time,” produced by Focus. The mid-tempo R&B cut will remind listeners of her 2002 debut All I Have, as a lovestruck Ameriie sings about missing her man.

“Every time I close my eyes, every time I close my eyes all I see is you/ Every time I hear your name, every time that my phone ring, I’m missin’ you,” coos Ameriie, who wed her manager Lennie Nicholson last year.

More details on The Prelude will be announced soon, but until then, Rap-Up.com has your first listen.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Don’t really care for the song, but I LOVE Ameriie & I’m excited about the LP. Kinda weird thou she would release this mini-LP, when her album is a totally different direction, confusing.

The track is definitely reminiscent of Ameriie’s early “All I Have” days, with such a rich R&B sound. I’m over the moon for any new Ameriie, so this is amazing to me. Ofcoures ya’ll need to be negative as always but no one cares anyway! Go A!!!!

OMG her tone is BEAUTIFUL on this!!!
Them harmonies and everything… definitely brings the old All I Have Amerie memories back! Amazing… she’s BORN to be doing RnB. Her lush tone is simply amazing and so sweet and soulful.

This track is hot. The only complaint I have is that it could be mixed and mastered better. Amerrie is criminally underrated but she’s always been one of those artists who stay respected for their art.

Her vocals sound so strange on this record. Like, the harmonies are filtered and have been a mixed by an amateur engineer who doesn’t even know his way around Garage Band. Amerie has been really good with producing her own vocals on all of her material so I’m surprised that she would clear this song as the final version. The vocal layers sound too raw and not fitting. Oh, well. I’m excited to see and hear what she ushers in musically during this Cymatika era of her career. From what I’ve read, it sounds very interesting.:-)

WELCOME BACK! Glad to see you’re getting off that “Cymatika” or what ever Illuminati record the industry had in store for you and going BACK to STRAIGHT-UP R&B!

Just get rid of the extra “i” (MAKES NO SENSE) and I’ll say it’s complete.

    [Reply]

  20. Just sayin!

@Iceman First of all: Cymatika will be released this summer and she isn’t even finished recording yet, and it has NOTHING to do with Illuminati. Second of all: The extra I means something personal to her so you saying it makes no sense is just plain stupid! 3rd of all: This is just a track from her upcoming Mini-LP The Prelude! Thank you.

    [Reply]

    Iceman Reply:

@Just sayin!, There’s a “Reply” button at the bottom of my post…next time click that.

Just like the rock-and-roll fans’ “War on Disco” in the late ’70s-early ’80s (which they WON), I’m a straight hip-hop/R&B fan fighting a “War on Electronica”…and disco wasn’t even a threat to rock-and-roll, unlike electronica to straight urban music.

“Cymatika” just SOUNDS Illuminati, and it’ll look that way too…that ISN’T HER. THIS is her.

If it’s not broke, DON’T FIX IT!

    [Reply]

    shion Reply:

@Iceman, Agreed. I on the battle field with you lol but I did think cymatika had a interesting theme/idea behind it if done right.

    [Reply]

    Cranberry Reply:

@Iceman, Hip and R&B has been dead for years, your fighting a losing battle lol.

And THIS isn’t her. You know why? Because you don’t KNOW her. She’s an artist, a real one at that, who isn’t afraid to step outside the generic box people like YOU put her in.

    [Reply]

    Just saying Reply:

    @Cranberry, Couldn’t agree more!

    [Reply]

    shion Reply:

@Cranberry, if it is losing, why are many of these same artist still making them?? N why is r&b considered generic all the time? What, u cant think outside the box and be r&b at the same time? GTFOH with that mess

    [Reply]

    Cranberry Reply:

@shion, they’re still making R&B out of fear of losing their closed minded fan base who think R&B music is the end all be all genre.

Of course you can think outside the box and still do R&B, but the fact of the matter is, no one does. It’s the same old, same old “sex, sex, sex”/”men suck” tripe.

Elle Varner is probably the only artist out right now that’s doing anything FRESH with R&B.

    [Reply]

    shion Reply:

@Cranberry, I understand what your saying, but ima have to disagree with u. Now there are some who are scared to lose their urban/r&b fans, but majority of these artist heart and soul is rooted in r&b/soul. Because just what you said can b turned right back around at all these soul/r&b artist going pop just to get that mainstream dollar and not being true to themselves as well. I do agree that this decade of r&b has gone to pits cuz majority of these younger new artist dont kno hw exactly to make good music, but it can be good if ppl artist would try harder to make it so. And Elle is not the only one. I feel Ameriie is doing her, which is still rooted in r&b with a slight chance of pop/electronic/dance which might be good if it doesn’t become this generic pop thats out now.

    Just saying Reply:

@Iceman, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is SO irrelevant to this topic! But never mind cuz you don’t seem to get it. Oh i hit the Reply button. Happy?

    [Reply]

    Dave Reply:

@Iceman, Are you Ameriie? No, So how do you tell her what is her? She’s independent, so Cymatika is HER because no one is telling her what to do. The illuminati is for the MUSIC INDUSTRY, Ameriie is not signed to a major label, she’s signed to her own label Feenix Rising entertainment, independently! You don’t like her being versatile, fine, you don’t like electro/trance, fine, but don’t blame or criticize her because of your narrow taste in music.

    [Reply]

  21. Rich Harrison Fan

I agree with Iceman. LOL And Tiffany too.

“Cymatika” has nothing to do with the Illuminati.
It’s a term for studying, sound & vibration.
Look it up instead of talking about things you don’t know anything about.
    I love what I’m hearing it’s very “All I Have” meets 2012

oh gosh you just made me realize “dance” music isn’t really dance musice. LMAO! Your right, You cant really dance to “dance” music at all. “dance” music needs to now be known as “fist-pump jump up and down” music. hip hop and r&b and up-beat r&b are you can really actually fit flowing movement into unlike “dance” music. Anyway, I’m happy to hear an “All I Have”-like sound again, to take a break from all the so called “dance” music that everyone is doing as their radio singles.

Posted on hmm that’s a weird list. for me, honestly, most of them fall into the Watchmen sduhlon’t even be a movie really list and yet, here comes Watchmen, and it looks pretty good, so who knows.Of their list, Runaways and Criminal were the two that instantly jumped out at me as, Ooh, that’d be cool. i’m bad at thinking of stuff for things like this, so the only thing that comes to mind is Box Office Poison, which I’d pitch as Friends starring Harvey Pekar. I could see that being a really good indie flick. A couple juicy parts in there for name actors slumming a little
