Marsha Ambrosius teams with trombonist Jeff Bradshaw on a cover of Janet Jackson’s 1997 hit “Got Til It’s Gone,” which originally sampled Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi.” The song, also featuring Christian rapper Tyrone TWyse, appears on Bradshaw’s double CD Bon Appetit, due April 24. The British songstress sits on a stoop in New Orleans’ 9th Ward, as she and her fellow musicians pay homage to the hurricane-ravaged city.

“Watch, enjoy, and remember our brothers and sisters in NOLA!!! There is still work to be done there!!!” said Bradshaw.

I respect them for covering 2 classic songs. But I blame the producer, because I think it lost the essence of the song. Marsha I love her, and I know she put 200% into this, but her voice is too airy for this.

I like the urban feel of this song. The scratching is a nice element, and I think Marsha’s vocals give it a certain resonance. It’s not too much and not too less! The emcee is nice! I love those drums and the horns. I’m digging this one!
