Rap-Up.com || Nicki Minaj Teases ‘Saucy’ ‘Starships’ Video

Nicki Minaj has kept fans waiting for her “Starships” video, but she promises it will be worth the wait. The Grammy-nominated rapper drummed up anticipation for the feel-good clip, calling it her best yet.

Young Money’s First Lady heat up the beaches of Hawaii earlier this month while shooting with director Anthony Mandler. Photos of a bikini-clad Nicki dripping wet with green hair surfaced online.

“I’m freaking out because the video is taking way too long,” she told Capital FM. “When it comes out it’s going to be very, very saucy and very exciting, and it’s going to be lots of fun and probably going to be my best one yet.”

Nicki had a blast filming the sizzling scenes in paradise with her hunky co-stars. “I went out to Hawaii and I met a lot of beautiful Hawaiian men that were so amazing—I just didn’t want to leave,” she gushed. “We shot the video on the beach, we shot the video in the mountains. It was just dope, the scenery was amazing.”

The video will arrive just in time for spring break. “You can expect to feel like, you know what, let’s get out the bikinis. Let’s go and have a good time. A shout out to everyone on spring break right now. It’s just one of those records that feels good and the video compliments that.”

In addition to “Starships,” Nicki also recently shot a video for her street record “Beez in the Trap” with 2 Chainz.

Pretty silly how every time a Nicki story pops up then it’s a Nicki hate fest. Then when any other female artist story pops up then Nicki fans want to act retarded themselves it’s just stupid all around. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if you hate the girl that much then I don’t see the point in taking every Nicki story to say the same shit you said the other 30 Nicki stories. As for her doing pop music fact of the matter is it’s hard as hell to stay around in hip hop music you can be popping today and this time next year fall off the face of the earth because of how fickle hip hop fans can be not to mention it’s a fad genre. So it’s even harder for a female rapper. I think she realizes this and decided to be smart since long term this is best for her career in terms of trying to appease the different fans she now has in comparison to just a few years back. Like her or not she has helped make herself very marketable.

Pretty closed minded to say being a smart business woman = being a sell out considering she likes all kinds of different music herself of different genre’s so only makes sense for her to dip into different genre’s herself.

@PHX, I agree about the whole hip-hop thing, but however I think ppl are upset because of how she transitioned into pop;one day its r.reloaded-then its whip it, theirs nothing wrong with dabbling in genres if done right, her pop songs seem very unauthentic, 80′s dance type songs; It woulda been dope if she did different types of pop-dance, use diff producers instead of sounding like kesha so that’s why she seems like a sell out and hip hop is like pop nowdays anyway.
