« Nina Sky Covers Destiny’s Child’s ‘Say My Name’ [Video]Beyoncé Launches New Website, Sends Out First Tweet »Single Cover: Frank Ocean – ‘Thinkin Bout You’![]() Frank Ocean is carving out his own lane. A Frankie look-alike gets behind the wheel of a race car in an arcade on the cover art for the Odd Future affiliate’s new single “Thinkin Bout You.” The tender ballad, which he originally penned for Roc Nation songstress Bridget Kelly, will be released to digital retailers on April 17, while Frank’s Def Jam debut is due later this year. “It succinctly defines me as an artist for where I am right now and that was the aim,” he said of the follow-up to the acclaimed Nostalgia, Ultra. “It’s about the stories. If I write 14 stories that I love, then the next step is to get the environment of music around it to best envelop the story and all kinds of sonic goodness.” TweetYou can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 21 CommentsLeave a Reply

I’M RATHER DISAPPOINTED THAT FRANK HAS DONE THIS TO KELLY. EVEN THOUGH HIS VERSION IS BETTER & HE WROTE IT. I FEEL LIKE HE NEVER WANTED HER TO HAVE THE SONG IN THE FIRST PLACE – HE SHOULDN’T HAVE GIVEN HER THE SONG!!! + HE KNOWS SHE’S ON THE COME UP.

FRANK IS KNOWN WORLDWIDE (UK, EUROPE, JAPAN ETC). BRIDGET ISN’T! SHE DID RUN WITH IT – SHE RECORDED.

@HEY RAP-UP, I admit that Frank’s version was better, but he sold the song to her. Why is he taking it back now and trying to run with it. She should sue him.

He is the best storyteller around today. His stories are so poetic and figurative, yet also literal, all at once.

a little bit shady that he let bridget kelly record it then took it back for himself but his version was the better one anyway

F*ck it.. Frankie can do whatever he want, like he said before. The song wasn’t on an ‘album’, it was for her mixtape so what’s the big deal? I hope this single goes PLATINUM!! : )

And I don’t like how Rap-up made it seem like he was talking about that song in particular. They got those words from his interview with BCC.. and he clearly wasn’t speaking on “Thinking About You”.

A great compromise would be for him to add her into his single version. This is not a good look for any new artist breaking into mainstream.

That a bad move. Bridget Kelly version never got a chance. He released his right around the same time. People started to like frank after novacane and wanted a second single we got into thinkin bout you. I don’t know how I feel after this… he’s makin mix tapes and shit…
