Rap-Up.com || Brandy ‘Puts It Down’ with Chris Brown on New Single

Brandy is coming back with a banger. After reuniting with Monica on their duet “It All Belongs to Me,” the R&B singer has enlisted Chris Brown for the first single off her upcoming album.

“Put It Down,” which will appear on Brandy’s RCA/Chameleon Records debut Two Eleven, is set to premiere this month. Breezy raps on the song, which was produced by Bangladesh and written by Sean Garrett.

“It’s uptempo, it’s really different,” Brandy told True Exclusives, while also sharing her experience in the studio with the “Deuces” singer.

“The session was amazing,” she said. “I just think his artist Se7en is so talented and she gets me and Chris gets me. To work with people that love you and love your craft and what you do, I think it makes the song even better and the experience even better.”

Garrett previously spoke to Rap-Up.com about the track. “It’s definitely something you have never heard—you probably haven’t heard Brandy over a track like this,” he said. “It’s very commercial, but at the same time, it’s got a dope hip-hop influence—it’s club, it’s radio, it’s all formats.”

Brandy, who will be featured on VH1’s “Behind the Music” on April 25, has been in the studio with Frank Ocean and Hit-Boy, among others. Two Eleven is due this summer.

Firstly – It’s not going to be a “dance” song.. It’s hip-hop influenced, as is her album.

Secondly – Brandy can release an uptempo and still shine. Some of her singles has been uptempo and her albums are full of them. If you want more of the same, you have monica’s New Life. and that’s no shade, but she sticks with her formula.

Drake has possibly written a song for this album and she spoke about it in another interview. I’m not 100% sure she recorded, but she really couldn’t wait to record it. She has already worked with Kanye on Afrodisiac and also on Kanye’s album Late Registration, but I think we would all like to see them work together again.

But it looks like for now, we have Chris Brown on the single in some capacity and we just have to wait to hear it. It’s going to slay.

Some of you are so DUMB, it’s sickening. Doesn’t Chris have multiple songs on the Hot 100 or the R&B/Hip Hop charts? Let’s face it, he’s BLOWING up out there. Brandy came solo last era and did pretty good, but putting her on a single by herself is too risky at this point. She’s been gone for too long, and she needs some help to get people interested in her music.

I’m sick of you Debbie Downers doubting and dissing this already! You all haven’t even heard anything, wait for it to come out! I can’t stand you all trying to judge the album before it even comes out. She tried to give you ungrateful non-supportive people a lyric with substance, a positive inspirational theme, and great lyrical content with 2008′s HUMAN, but no one was there to support it.

Brandy is blessing us with NEW music, and I’m welcoming it with open arms cause she has the big 4 year gaps between a lot of her albums. That’s not gonna fly. So stop being so negative making it hard for Brandy to do her. Just let her do her, and mind your own business and support or do whatever you need to do as long as it ain’t negative.

People are saying its Chris because a radio personality who heard the track already confirmed via twitter that he’s the feature. He also said that Chris is rapping on it, not singing. It’s an urban track not a dance track, and he said that it’s very different. He also said it has cross-over potential.
