Plies pays his respects to Trayvon Martin in the tribute video for “We Are Trayvon.” Wearing a hoodie that says “17 and Unarmed” and a hat that reads “Justice,” the Florida rapper keeps the memory of the slain teen alive. He sets doves free on the beach, pours out some Skittles (the candy Trayvon was carrying when he was killed), and raises his can of AriZona Ice Tea as people of all races sport hoodies in a showing of support.
“Congratulations 2 TRAYVON MARTIN FAMILY 4 Finally Getting JUSTICE!” tweeted Plies after Trayvon’s killer George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder. “My GIFT to the Trayvon Martin’s Family!!!”
I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANY-MORE. HOW ARE WE AS BLACK PEOPLE SUPPOSED TO STAND UP FOR SOMETHING, WHEN SH*T LIKE THIS HAPPENS & WE HOURS LATER GO OUT AND KILL ONE OF OUT OWN. IT’S STUPID!!! I STAND FOR JUSTICE OF A PARANOID WATCHMEN WITH A GUN WHO SHOT AND KILLED A 17 YEAR OLD TEENAGER. WE NEED TO STOP SEEING COLOUR PEOPLE. WE ARE AS RACIST AS THE NEXT PERSON.
I like the message but it’s hard to take someone like Plies seriously. I mean really… how about you rap about something meaningful on your next album and then I’ll think differently.
just another person trying to gain attention off the trayvon martin situation smh sad..got to do better. *counting down the days he “drops” hi first single* smh again
I think the video will go memory lane to remind us, and the future generation who will watch this in the future that, one Trayvon, 17 and unarmed was murdered in cold blood.
It will also remind us of THE REALITY OF PROFILING …

I actually thought this was touching. You have to admit its heartfelt.
