2 Chainz kicked off the premiere of MTV’s new show “Hip Hop POV” with an interview and performance. The much-buzzed-about MC delivered a medley of his T.R.U. REALigion mixtape cuts “Spend It” and “Riot.”

During his sit-down interview, he acknowledged Jay-Z and Kanye West for playing his mixtape while recording Watch the Throne in Paris last year. “Jay, B, everybody was like, 2 Chainz!” said Def Jam VP of A&R Bu Thiam.

The former Playaz Circle member, who is featured on Nicki Minaj’s single “Beez in the Trap,” is working with Kanye West on his upcoming Def Jam debut Based on a T.R.U. Story, due August 14.
