Video: Rita Ora – ‘How We Do (Party)’

Rita Ora

Rita Ora is the life of the party in the feel-good video for “How We Do (Party),” the first U.S. single off her debut album. The blonde starlet parties with her pals in Los Angeles in the Marc Klasfeld-clip, which captures the spirit of youth.

The Runners-produced track, boasting a sample of the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Party and Bullshit,” will appear on Rita’s Roc Nation debut, due this summer.

Raise a cup and join Rita’s celebration.

@AEROL, So was Pon De Replay and most other first singles. Just want something catchy folks can latch onto and work the rest out later. Between this and R.I.P. she should be alright. They are Katy Perry and Rihanna records respectively in sound. Rita still has better pipes though.

@TVA, why are you mentionning Rihanna here? See , this is why Rihanna is still winning. It will take a miracle for Rita to get out of Rihanna’s shadow because of people like you. BTW,pon de replay was not a week start at all! Know your facts.

@Come onnn, I totally agree with you 100%, people always have to compare them to someone! Rihanna is in her own lane!!! Nothing to do with this post at all and yes I agree this song is weak not even catchy and the video is BLAH! But doesn’t mean I hate on her its a opinion and I wish her the best!!!

@Come onnn, This has been Rita’s style for years now, even when Rihanna was still running around what the image of a good girl. Perhaps you’d know that if you weren’t so busy trying to put her down. She’s in Rihanna’s shadow only in the minds of haters.

@Come onnn, Where a song charts doesn’t make it better or worse musically. Just catchy. Rita can really sing. Rihanna can’t REALLY sing. She holds a note pretty well like Britney Spears. Britney is no Christina Aguilera vocally but crushes her sales wise. It’s the nature of the business, especially in pop music. Everyone wants to compare Rita to Rihanna because of the Hov affiliation and “exotic look.” I used Pon de Replay because it’s a weak song but it’s really catchy so it did what it was supposed to do. R.I.P., Rita’s UK single, was penned by Drake for Rihanna but Rihanna passed so it has Rihanna ad libs on his reference that leaked years ago so it still sounds like a Rihanna record to me (Although Rita sings it slightly slower than Drake did.) This record was penned by a lady who does a lot of Britney and Katy Perry records …. so it sounds like a Britney/Katy Perry record. They want something familiar but delivered in a new package so you easily accept it. Then she’ll beat you over the head with more “original” material. I ride with all the Roc Girls though. Alexis, Bridget and Rita so it’s all good to me. I know they all can REALLY sing so I have no qualms.

Agreed this is crap it’s very boring

    StarsAreBlind Reply:

@PopCritic, I’m just mad she sampled Biggie and named the song How We Do, but when the chorus hits it’s a love song that has nothing to do with Party and Bullshit (“When the sunsets baby on the avenue…put your arms around me baby…”)? I just wish it was a bit more edgy, and less of an attempt to mix a bunch of markets and see where it falls (Hip-hop sample, pop beat, love song chorus, Disney video?). I didn’t much care for it. What was the point of the teaser, if this is all you have?

It’s a great summer single and it fits her bubbly personality. She is singing something that’s a reflection of her.

I challenge one of you idiots to go on Youtube, type in Rita Ora/Craig David or Rita Ora/Roc Nation Skull Candy headphones and you would see she has had this look for 3-4 years.

Before you go being the insecure Rihanna stan you are and accusing people of stealing her style, learn who had it first.

A real Rihanna fan should be secure with your favorite artist. She is a established act, Rita is only getting started. Ya’ll sound scared as hell, why because Rita can actually sing.

@flawda, Correction, we’re not scared or insecure just locked and loaded! Haven’t you heard by now we are the RihannaNavy no need to hate just separate! This is much deeper than Rita, it’s about Jay-z who’s using Rita as a shot gun towards Rihanna…! So no not scared more like armed and ready! In order to win you must defeat the competition in this case by any means necessary! With freedom of speech or this case blog, we will! Have a good day!

Rihanna stans running from site to site hating…pathetic. Rita must be some kind of threat. Video was awesome and the people will eat it up. You know it, and I know it. Catchy and fun without grabbing her crotch or showing dark, disturbing images. I love!!!!!

  15. Minaaaa

Not a fan of the song, but no doubt Rita has a great voice.
I look forward to hearing her other tracks.

    BUT

Please stop saying she is copying Rihanna! Rita has been signed for 3 years, and this has been her image since!
Rihanna only died her hair blonde recently and 2bh Rihanna does whatever everyone else is doing – wouldn’t be surprised if she changed her look to co-incide with Rita getting popular.

Only comparison that should be made between them is that Rita can sing and Rihanna still can’t.

Im rihanna biggest fan and I also happen to love rita. I do see comparisons, i love boh their images. Rita has a better voice but rihanna material is 1 billion times better than rita. I dont kno why they didnt have her debut with a smash single, these songs are very generic and weak.

How disappointing was that! I mean seriously who’s this chick? On occasions she’s either portraying the image of Rihanna or Gwen Stafani & with this exert, she’s exhibiting heavy influences from Jessie J and Kesha! Who’s next Britney no maybe Gaga! Will the real Rita stand up!

Getting bored with this chick! I just want to see the difference between her and other artist what is new that she’s bringing to the table! Anyway, i thought this single and vid’ was ok, definitely seen & felt this treatment or theme of this type of music video before!

When Rihanna releases “WHYB” vid’ it’s all over!

I know it’s impossible to refrain from making comparisons so I’m just going to say that Rita’s style just SCREAMS Rihanna. I bet you people who don’t follow pop music will see this and think it’s Rihanna. It will be interesting to see where she’ll fit in with the other pop artists right now. I think she’s got a good voice but I just hope her debut album distingues her from the rest of the pack.

I did some research on Rita and she always had that style and one of her influence is Gwen Stefani hence the blonde hair, red lips etc.

Lmao at Rihanna fans saying they want to divide and conquer lol. If rita is going to blow up there’s nothing y’all can do about it.

Rihanna wasnt the first female jayz signed and mentored and Rita wont be the last. Dont hate the playa, hate the game!

Rihanna is wack, she is a business plan & she doesn’t have a ounce of talent to her name.
you guys can list whatever achievement she made but it won’t prove anything, because popularity doesnt equal to talent or good music. NEVERTHELESS this chick rita ora, I was very open minded when I pressed play, the song is wack but what really made be angry is how she sampled The Notorious B.I.G’s party and bullshit, once you touch a Biggie track, you are on the negative with me

Rihanna has been named one of TIME magazine’s most influential people in the WORLD. Rihanna is way too far from Rita.

Do yall think we’re “afraid” from Rita Ora?
Or that we think she’s the new Rihanna?

We are not even afraid from Katy Perry.

She has ONE single, she’s starting, and even she succed, there only be ONE Rihanna.

PLUS Ri is one of the most beautiful girls in the world, and sincerely rita has midget face.
