Rap-Up.com || Video: Rita Ora – ‘How We Do (Party)’

Rita Ora is the life of the party in the feel-good video for “How We Do (Party),” the first U.S. single off her debut album. The blonde starlet parties with her pals in Los Angeles in the Marc Klasfeld-clip, which captures the spirit of youth.

The Runners-produced track, boasting a sample of the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Party and Bullshit,” will appear on Rita’s Roc Nation debut, due this summer.

@AEROL, So was Pon De Replay and most other first singles. Just want something catchy folks can latch onto and work the rest out later. Between this and R.I.P. she should be alright. They are Katy Perry and Rihanna records respectively in sound. Rita still has better pipes though.

@Come onnn, Where a song charts doesn’t make it better or worse musically. Just catchy. Rita can really sing. Rihanna can’t REALLY sing. She holds a note pretty well like Britney Spears. Britney is no Christina Aguilera vocally but crushes her sales wise. It’s the nature of the business, especially in pop music. Everyone wants to compare Rita to Rihanna because of the Hov affiliation and “exotic look.” I used Pon de Replay because it’s a weak song but it’s really catchy so it did what it was supposed to do. R.I.P., Rita’s UK single, was penned by Drake for Rihanna but Rihanna passed so it has Rihanna ad libs on his reference that leaked years ago so it still sounds like a Rihanna record to me (Although Rita sings it slightly slower than Drake did.) This record was penned by a lady who does a lot of Britney and Katy Perry records …. so it sounds like a Britney/Katy Perry record. They want something familiar but delivered in a new package so you easily accept it. Then she’ll beat you over the head with more “original” material. I ride with all the Roc Girls though. Alexis, Bridget and Rita so it’s all good to me. I know they all can REALLY sing so I have no qualms.

@PopCritic, I’m just mad she sampled Biggie and named the song How We Do, but when the chorus hits it’s a love song that has nothing to do with Party and Bullshit (“When the sunsets baby on the avenue…put your arms around me baby…”)? I just wish it was a bit more edgy, and less of an attempt to mix a bunch of markets and see where it falls (Hip-hop sample, pop beat, love song chorus, Disney video?). I didn’t much care for it. What was the point of the teaser, if this is all you have?

It’s a great summer single and it fits her bubbly personality. She is singing something that’s a reflection of her.

I challenge one of you idiots to go on Youtube, type in Rita Ora/Craig David or Rita Ora/Roc Nation Skull Candy headphones and you would see she has had this look for 3-4 years.

Before you go being the insecure Rihanna stan you are and accusing people of stealing her style, learn who had it first.

A real Rihanna fan should be secure with your favorite artist. She is a established act, Rita is only getting started. Ya’ll sound scared as hell, why because Rita can actually sing.

Not a fan of the song, but no doubt Rita has a great voice.

BUT

Please stop saying she is copying Rihanna! Rita has been signed for 3 years, and this has been her image since!
Rihanna only died her hair blonde recently and 2bh Rihanna does whatever everyone else is doing – wouldn’t be surprised if she changed her look to co-incide with Rita getting popular.

Only comparison that should be made between them is that Rita can sing and Rihanna still can’t.

Im rihanna biggest fan and I also happen to love rita. I do see comparisons, i love boh their images. Rita has a better voice but rihanna material is 1 billion times better than rita. I dont kno why they didnt have her debut with a smash single, these songs are very generic and weak.

I bet you people who don’t follow pop music will see this and think it’s Rihanna. It will be interesting to see where she’ll fit in with the other pop artists right now.
