Rap-Up.com || Chris Brown Pushes ‘Fortune’ to July

Chris Brown fans will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on his new album. The R&B superstar has postponed its release from May to July.

Brown’s fifth album, Fortune, will now arrive on July 3, he announced on Twitter. It was previously scheduled for a May 8 release.

“Team Breezy! The official album date for FORTUNE is July 3,2012!!!!!!!!!!!!” tweeted Chris.

The follow-up to last year’s F.A.M.E. has spawned the singles “Turn Up the Music,” Polow Da Don-produced “Sweet Love,” and “Till I Die” featuring Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa.

Chris is also working with Tyga on Fan of a Fan 2, the sequel to their 2010 collaborative mixtape.

Even though I was hoping to get my hands on it next month, I think this is best. It doesn’t even feel like he has an album coming out imo. I hope Sweet Love blows up, that was the first single from the album that I love.

As a fan, i’m sad because i was looking forward to bumping to that album in three weeks.
However, i think this may be the best for ‘Fortune’ as there are some really good promo events like awards shows around that time. so its a smart business move.
I need this album to go no.1 with big first week sales.

I think Chris should let the rapping go for awhile. “F.A.M.E.” was a good album, but I think he should start doing R&B/Pop songs like “Kiss Kiss,” “With You” and “Run It!” again. It would be a very successful song for him. LAMN was a hit, but he was rapping on that track. Chris, I hope this album is hot and worth the wait.

He needs to get back to basics. The last album and only album I liked from him from beginning to end was Exclusive. His R&B material is always top notch, it’s the pop material that stinks. He had a great thing going with the urban pop thing like Usher and Justin Timberlake. The straight up pop stuff is bad. He uses the same formula for those pop songs since “Forever” and it’s wearing thin. He also needs to stop rapping, he’s not good.
