Rap-Up.com || Cassie Performs ‘King of Hearts’ on ’106 & Park’

Cassie returned to BET’s “106 & Park” for her first television performance in six years. After being panned by critics in 2006, Bad Boy’s First Lady got back up on the stage and delivered her new single “King of Hearts” and the Kanye West-produced remix for the first time. The dance routine was choreographed by Laurieann Gibson.

Cassie spoke with Rocsi about her sophomore album. “It’s like a mish-mosh of my life. It’s the perfect reflection of who I am right now,” she said, while putting out a call for new collaborators. “If there’s any young producers out there, I’m still looking for that one or two records, so the door is still open.”

She will travel overseas to perform a 20-minute set at a festival in Spain in June, with 60,000 people in attendance.

you can definitely see the growth in her from the last live performance she’s had. they need to hurry with this album though, they are waiting waaaaay too long. stronger vocals & better, more confident stage presence this time, for sure. & the comment about vocals is definitely worth something concerning cassie. im a fan, glad to see her doing her thing.

She is strictly a studio singer. She has no confidence when she’s on stage and that’s probably because she knows that she has limited/no vocal range. As hard as I am on her, I still appreciate her music though. I wish her the best and her and her team need to hurry with that album because I don’t know what they’re waiting for.

@KeepItReal, I actually take it as a compliment that you think she was lip-synching because that means she did well. You’re obviously tone deaf if you couldn’t hear her singing in a deeper register that on record, which I’m also hearing for the first time and it is quite nice.

Man, that was great! I really proud of Cassie! She was a lot more fearless this time. The more she performs the more confident she’ll be. Choreography and dancing was sick and she sounded good too! And of course Cassie always looks so good. Can’t wait for the album! :)

@Jay, She really stepped up her game. To be honest I wasn’t expecting a whole lot going in, but she wowed me and then some. She’s definitely more confident and she came with that heavy ass swagger. I see Laurie Ann’s been workin hard with her on her dancing because it’s way on point. If Diddy plays his cards right with her promo and marketing, it could be a big year for Cass.
