Snoop Dogg pays tribute to the late Dick Clark on the latest episode of his “GGN” web series. Tha Doggfather, under his alias Nemo Hoes, recalls the time when the “American Bandstand” host fought for him to perform his hit “Gin and Juice” on the American Music Awards despite resistance from ABC executives.

“Dick Clark, a real ni**a, always a stand-up kind of guy for me,” said Snoop. “I didn’t even have to act a motherf**king ni**a. Dick Clark acted a ni**a. He went stone cold ni**a on [ABC].”
