    @meds,

    CAN I JUST POINT OUT. THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR THIS SONG. THIS VIDEO IS YEARS OLD & I DON’T AGREE WITH M.I.A. USING IT!!! SHE IS CREATIVE & SENDS HOMAGE TO WHERE IT IS DUE, BUT ART/DANCE LIKE THIS SHOULD STAY OUT OF MAINSTREAM… PEOPLE WILL FABRICATE IT AND USE IT FOR MONEY NOT ART!

    her album art always looks as if it was created in ms paint from the accessories tab in windows.

    Aunt.dot Reply:

    @kelly macintosh, its part of her visual vision.. if you ever watch most of music video.. you’ll see a lot of this style. probably part of it is because how she grew up. the poverty she been trough and the bullshit politics her family tackled.

    Sunny Reply:

    @kelly macintosh, i think it’s because she bases her visuals off of propaganda and movie posters common in African and South Asian nations. If you have any African or South Asian grocery stores near you, you can check out what I’m talking about. They have this similar, “clip art” look to them. (Also, I think she does it to go against the grain in terms of what’s considered art).

    What dance is that? :D

    [Reply]

    didje Reply:

    @Naia, It’s a mix of hip-hop, some congolese dances moves usually called “Ndombolo”, “Malewa”, a little bit of “Logobi” and european “Tecktonic”.

    In France, this mixture is usually called “African New Style”

    I love MIA so much. She is so incredibly talented and even though MAYA wasn’t my favorite, her first two albums and the Vicki Leekx mixtape were phenomenal. This snippet is so sick, I really hope her albums drops before the end of the summer. Those kids are amazing dancers, and I think it is awesome they’re being promoted globally because I am sure they would appreciate the international adoration. The last 12 seconds to this song are insane, I want to roll so hard to the full version of this song.

    I GUESS THAT MIA IS AN INTELLIGENT GIRL,BUT IN THIS CASE SHE IS SOMEHOW STUPID FOR SENDING A MEDICAL SAMPLE OF HER FUTURE HIT WHICH SHE WANTS TO SELL GOD KNOWS WHEN…DOESNT SHE WANT TO SELL IT TODAY?????…IS SHE A SCIENCE FICTION MARKETER BECAUSE SHE HAS TODAY WHAT SHE IS STUPIDLY PLANNING TO SELL IN FOUR OR SIX MONTHS…SHE DOESNT CARE ABOUT HAVING HER DOLLARS TODAY AND HER MARKETING COMPANY IS EVIDENTLY A ROOKIE ONE BECAUSE THE PRODUCT YOU HAVE TODAY YOU MUST SELL TODAY NOT TOMORROW,THATS GOOD MARKETING…
