Rap-Up.com || New Music: Azealia Banks

Azealia Banks goes bananas on “Jumanji,” the first single from her upcoming mixtape Fantastic, dropping this summer. The 20-year-old rapper spits over steel drums on the Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook-produced beat. “Real bitch all day, uptown, Broadway,” she raps over the calypso rhythm, which borrows its title from the 1995 movie starring Robin Williams.

In addition to a mixtape, Banks is readying her 1991 EP and full-length debut Broke With Expensive Taste, due this fall on Interscope Records.

MY thing is, as an artist, you should always be checking for somebody new. This way, you can surprise people by snatching them up and getting the potential winners on your team. What I don’t like is, Nicki seems to forget that not too long ago she was a rapper with a dream and she was waiting on someone to give her a shot. Personally, I love Nicki’s drive and her ambition and I see her going far in the game IF she focuses her energies.
