Rap-Up.com || Nelly Furtado Performs ‘Big Hoops’ on ‘The Tonight Show’

Nelly Furtado has been busy promoting her new single all week long. On Thursday night, she returned to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” to perform “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)” off her upcoming album The Spirit Indestructible, due this September. Looking sexy in a black bodysuit, gold chain, and ponytail, Nelly kicked it into high gear with an energetic set featuring the hoop dancers from her music video.

@Anthony, I feel bad about it too. It’s weird because it seems that casual fans or radio fans (which is the mainstream) don’t care for the song, but club and radio DJs and music reviewers love the song. Seems to be another case where great music won’t make it big because it’s too new…or something.

@Sunny, I agree. Nelly F is always trying something new – sometimes it works (Loose, Whoa Nelly), sometimes it doesn’t (Folklore).

@Anthony, You know why it isnt charting its rather simple. Back when Loose came out there was still TRL on MTV. TRL was the major outlet for promotion for artists. Promiscuous was #1 for a good while when TRL was around. Thats the main reason why Nelly Furtados loose album and singles did so well. When you think about it now there isnt any major outlet to get peoples videos and music out there except 106 and Park and thats on BET they dont play rock or pop videos. The music industry could definately benefit if they brought TRL back im telling you.

@The Killer Truth, 100% agree with you. I think they should bring back TRL and simply just revamp everything. There a lot of ideas i have that i should just write a letter to MTV and give them input i mean it would be a huge deal for artists who arent selling much now a days.

It’s a Beautiful song! Maybe the slow pick up on the charts is because she has been away for so long. All it needs now is constant Radio airplay back to back! That is the way to get chart toppers now a’days! Radio is taking over Tv promo is not as strong as before i.e. TRL days! Radio is the answer!

Congratulations BITS, congratulations Joey! Ten years, that’s an amznaig amount of time, especially as most of us are still youngsters! I’ve been a Nelly fan since Whoa,Nelly but didn’t join BITS until 2004. I’ve met great people there and I love the international spirit. Since Folklore I’m not really a Nelly fan anymore, but because of BITS I can say: I’m a fan of her fans Another 10 years for BITS!
