Rap-Up.com || Ciara Shows Vulnerability on ‘One Woman Army’

Ciara revealed the title of her fifth album while promoting the comedy That’s My Boy earlier this week. Now she’s sharing a few more details on One Woman Army, which she calls her most personal project yet.

“This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever been in my life and career,” the 26-year-old singer told MTV News. “And I’m so confident with being vulnerable. At one point in time, I was very afraid to be as vulnerable as I am.”

She poured her emotions into the album, but made sure to include the dance tracks that have become her signature. “This is almost like a journal, my own personal journal,” she explained. “There are some very, very, very personal moments, and of course, you’ve gotta have the fun dance moments.”

Her first single “Sweat” could be coming any day now. “I just love to make you sweat in all kinds of ways,” she teased.

One Woman Army is Ciara’s first album since parting ways with Jive and signing with L.A. Reid at Epic Records.

You know I was aksin myself this the other day. When is Ciara gonna do a record that lets us know who and where she is in life right now.

I know we had the Basic Instinct and Never Ever songs. But what about songs like “My Love”, “I Found Myself”,and “I’m Just Me” .I’m very happy to hear this though.She hasn’t got personal really since Evolution so I hope L.A. got her vision through.

you know how i know ciara will do ok. because everyone has am opinion about her, people either love her or hate her. no disrespect Shes not like a latoya luckett ashanti brandy teairra mari. With those artist if they comeback they comeback, everybody likes them but nobody is constantly waiting for new music from them. Go on twitter right now and look up ciara and you will find tweets that hate her or tweets that are urging for her return. Love her or hate her you know that everybody is watching to see what she does.

I know that Ciara will do ok because everyone has an opion about her. People love her or hate her. No disrespect but shes not a Latoya Luckett, Teairra Mari or Ashanti. With those artist people like them but if they dont comeout with nothing else people wont care. If ciara doesnt come out with something people are all over media sites saying either 1) shes a flop or 2)WE WANT NEW MUSIC. Love her or hate her your eyes are on Ciara

I’m so ready! Can’t wait. CSquad has waited for over a year. Ciara was treated terribly by her last label. She’s SO talented, it’s time for her to shine. I AM SO EXCITED! I’m definitely gonna buy it :D

I’m excited to hear what she’s cooking up! I hope Epic records will really push her project. I miss the days when Ciara was on top like she was back in 04′-06′.

Since Ciara is working with Hit Boy and Bangladesh im hoping for beats more Hip Hop and R&B influenced and not Pop beats like Gimmie That because honestly i cant even begin to express how disappointed i was when Ciara released that wack ass “Gimme That” song as a single off Basic Instinct. I really hope she learned from her mistakes and now understands the music her fans want to hear. Since crunk music isnt big anymore she should be dancing to Hip Hop/R&B 808 hard hitting beats with catchy hooks that would still be able to make it on top 10 billboard. Hopefully the producers shes worked with have crafted sounds that can hold that album. Im seriously rooting for Ciara this time around. Please dont let me down.

@Truth Be Told, Um, she kinda did that on her last album with the exception of Gimme Dat & a few other songs on her album & ppl still didn’t buy it. And to be honest ppl were loving the “Gimme Dat” record, but to each its own I guess. You can’t please everybody. I for one loved the song & the album & her album before which was criticized for being too pop & then Basic Instinct was criticized for being too out dated. So really this time around, Ciara should do the music she’s comfortable doing, whether it’s pop or r&b, i’ll still support it cause i love me CiCi & have since 2004.

im so excited! i been saying that i feel like her fan base has gotten smaller because she doent really have many vulnerable songs. i cant wait to here what she has cooked up! ahhhhhhhhh
