Ciara Shares Producers on ‘One Woman Army’

Ciara

During her red-hot appearance at the MTV Movie Awards, Ciara shared more details on her album One Woman Army. She’s been in the lab with “Ride” producer Tricky Stewart as well as The Underdogs’ Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas working on her Epic Records debut.

“Of course, the obvious, Tricky, he’s a part of my Epic family. We worked together,” Ciara told MTV News. “And Harvey and Damon, it’s our first time together and what we did was so special. They actually produced the title track, ‘One Woman Army,’ I can tell you that.”

She has also recruited some new talent. “I worked with some people that are very fresh, which I’m excited about,” she revealed. “When it comes to artists, when it comes to writers, when it comes to producers, I really wanted to push. We pretty much reached out and worked with a lot of people that I’ve never worked with before, which is really fun.”

Look out for a surprise on the first single, “Sweat.” “The new single could be another treat on that record. Besides it being called ‘Sweat,’ there may be another goodie on there,” she teased. “If I check my skin clock it may be arriving at any second maybe. It’s time to sweat.”

I just need her to come out like shes a new artist. Forget everything that shes done. Start fresh. Im on her side this time. I really believe in her. I hope she dont disapooint me.

@MinajRules2012, I know a Nicki Minaj fan isn’t talking about someone flopping when Nicki is the biggest flop of the year. She dropped 2 top 10 singles b4 PFRR was released, appeared on the Superbowl, Grammys, American Idol, every major talk show, radio station and magazine to promote the album, has 11 million followers on Twitter, but yet her album has only sold 485K in 8 wks. Let’s letting Lionel Ritchee old ass, who hasn’t dropped an album in yrs b4 this yr shit on her in sales. #SMFH

I’m very excited about this album. One Woman Army is a great album title in my opinion. It shows that Ciara is taking control over her albums unlike with Fantasy Ride and Basic Instinct. I wonder what Sweat, One Woman Army and the rest of the album will sound like. And I know people are not talking about she needs to stop working with the same producers when Rihanna, Britney Spears and so many others use the same producers over and over again. Not one of Ciara’s album sound alike. She doesn’t want her music to be generic and mediocre like Rihanna and Britney just to get a quick hit for a few wks. Anybody can have their voice auto-tuned and sings songs like We Found Love, Where Have You Been, Hold It Against Me and Till the World Ends, but can those two do songs like Keep Dancin on Me, Like a Surgeon, Speechless, Heavy Rotation, I Run It, Ride, Make It Last Forever, no they can’t. Ciara still has her own sound, which is like the only true mix of R&B and Pop by a female artist out now. She just didn’t have a lot of control over her last 2 albums. None of the singles/video concepts Ciara wanted were chosen by Jive. They wanted her to go down the Pop/Dance route like Rihanna, Katy and Britney, but Ciara didn’t want to do that. That’s why Jive fucked her over. Ciara, you’ll be fine. Just keep doing you and I’ll support. I’ve been a fan since Goodies was first released as a single on May 28, 2004 and I’m still a fan 8 yrs later. Fuck, I was a fan when you featured on ATL’s album back in 2003 LOL

Ciara and Tricky/The Dream honestly need to part ways. What they came up with for Basic Instinct and the previous album was beyond lackluster. Forgettable lyrics, dated production all around, etc. Comparing Tricky and The Dream’s work with Ciara, to people like Beyonce or even Rihanna, you can see CLEAR differences in the quality of the music. Jazze, Jermaine Dupri, Brian Michael Cox, Missy and Timbaland, etc. You have way too many options at this point to stick to what HASN’T worked.

Ciara needs to find her sound and stick with that sound. Basic Instinct had some good material (from The-Dream) and I’m sorry the album didn’t sell well.

Stop all the negative comment about Ciara. In my opinion, she is really a good performer. Come on, how many artist can now sing and dance well in a live show nowadays. Please give some credit to her hard work. Even if you think she does not deserve it, at the very least just shut up and stop hurling shitty comment. If you think she is a shit or bitch, just look at the mirror and ask yourselve if you are refering to the shitty bitch in front of your mirror.
