Rap-Up.com || Janet Jackson to Executive Produce Transgender Documentary

Janet Jackson is used to being in front of the camera, but now she’s taking on a behind-the-scenes role. The pop icon has signed on to executive produce the transgender documentary TRUTH.

Fresh off her “Number Ones” world tour and New York Times best seller True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself, Janet will begin production on TRUTH this summer. The film, directed by Robert Jason, examines the lives, issues, and experiences of transgender people and their struggle for equality.

Janet, who has been a friend to the LGBT community, will have an extensive role in the production, as well as conducting some of the on-camera interviews.

“All people are very important to me,” said Janet. “I’ve been fortunate to make friends and learn about very different lives. TRUTH is our small chance to ask that you try and understand someone who lives their life in a way that is a little bit different from yours, even though all of our hearts are the same. We want to stop the hate and find understanding.”

Janet previously executive produced the DVD Janet Jackson: The Rhythm Nation Compilation and is currently producing an untitled project for Lionsgate.

@DeeJay, This documentary should be called DELUSION, because this is a man-made gender. You don’t have to be religious to acknowledge schizophrenia aka mental illness. Or maybe you have to, since it seems that anything can be rationalize to non-religious folks.

@Lea, Right on lea. I am a Trans-man and I support Janet the whole way. I would like to be part of her interviewed for the documentary. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I would like to see people get educated too instead of fear and use the bible as a weapon against what they truly do not understand. That is not what the Bible was intended for.God is love no matter who you are or feel you are.only Man judges and when did we humans become so righteous to do so.

This is my 1st time here; 1st heard of Janet Jackson’s new project, I wanted to see what the responses on the web would be, but for all the tolerance/acceptance speak it seems to be one-sided either u agree/support LGBT view or u receive hate/intolerance which LGBT say they just want to be free to be them but y don’t others have that same right to express their ownview, I really don’t get it? Y all the hate towards iceman? It seems there is only luv acceptance & peace “here” if u don’t voice an opinion that is different on the side of a conservative/christian/religious opinion, am curious y EVERYONE can’t get the same respect “here” for their right to be an indiVidual & express their opinion, y all the bigotry/hypocricy?

I don’t know if Janet would even read this But i was wondering if Janet will interveiw her ex dancer and friend “Rudu Huston” who change hes gender to “Lana”? I sure hope so i would really like to her Lana’s Story.I Loved Janet and Rudy’s energy when then dappeared on screen, they really had chemistry. Does anyone know if Janet will be intereweing “LAna” (aka) Rudy Huston?

Proverbs 2:1-9 NLT Version. My child listen to what I say, and treasure my commmands. Turn your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
