Rap-Up.com || Video: Chris Brown – ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’

It was all a dream in the surreal video for Chris Brown’s “Don’t Wake Me Up,” the latest single off his fifth album Fortune, due July 3. In the Colin Tilley-directed clip, the R&B superstar has three different dreams all involving the same girl (model Araya Nicks). He chases his leading lady through a garden maze, a city in the sky, and by car through the desert.

Will he reach her in time? Watch the dream sequence unfold.

@Cherrie, Correct. He hasn’t been out as long and is the second male r&b artist to have 22 hits while Usher holds 23. He still has work to do as far as Grammy’s but he’s head on Usher’s heels. The only time Chris put on clothing that resembled MJ was when he was giving tribute. Don’t go there. Dancing? He was already marked the best to try and resemble MJ’s dancing. Y’all take his dedication as being a gimmick. It’s ridiculous. Chris does his own thing but makes sure he pays homage to the person he idolize. This video? Isn’t something you’ve seen.

The video is very dope, one of his best quite possibly, as for the song, I like the verses and the first half of the hook. The 2nd half of the hook where he starts screaming it sounds horrible because it’s way overly autotuned and the bridge is too autotuned as well, it doesnt’ go with the song. CB really hasn’t been able to get that crossover single this time around. Till I Die, Sweet Love, and this song are duds. Only hit he had was Turn Up The Music, which still was no Look At Me Now

Song is ok, Its nothing new or fresh and I dont think it will be a big hit but It will create some more buzz/promotion for the album. Video I thought was good, the creepy mind control part I can live without. I feel Chris is better then the material he has been putting out lately. He isnt an amazing singer but his voice is very versatile and the producers he is working with need to bring their A game. He is undeniably the best dancer out there right now and arguably the best one ever to be out. I just dont know about fortune =/ They keep pushing single’s out like hot cakes and the only time the label does that is if they are nervous about record sales. Good Luck Chris but so far im siding with FAME as the better of the two.

You guys must realize that any artist who is in R&B right now is a MAJOR FLOP! Chris is trying to get out of r&b. Pop is a universal genre. Why not join! Beyonce and Rihanna tried it years ago and they sell out arenas and stadiums. Plus, r&b only appeals to black people, and just appealing to one genre won’t get you to superstar status.

People stop hating on the auto tune.. he has no choice.. he doesn’t have a very good voice… This isn’t the first time he is using auto-tune.. He always does.. But this is the first time it’s overly obvious..

Did you ever stop to think why he was crying when it was time to sing at the 2010 bet award after doing a lil bit of justice to Michael’s dance moves?.. It’s cuz he doesn’t have the voice.. so he decided to cry.. so y’all will think he’s not singing cuz of the emotions.. Listen to him when ever he tries to sing.. sounds like a frog.. So he keeps on singing.. but puts the mic away.. so you can hear him..

He uses auto-tune on his live performances but he couldn’t use it on Michael’s tribute.. It would just be pure direspectful.

There will never be another Michael.
